What if Mike McCallum vs Davey Moore?

Who would win in their prime at junior middleweight between Mike McCallum and Davey Moore? In my opinion, McCallum would wear Moore down with his devastating body punches and knocks Moore out in the eleventh round. Please tell me what is your opinion.

McCallum would probably end it alot earlier than the 11th.

The Body Snatcher by KO within 9.
Just a solid, workmanlike professional.
Too wise and well rounded for the talented but inexperienced Moore who was ruined far too early by Duran.

Prime vs Prime, Mike might edge him, but he better be on point. Moore is no slouch, and there is no way Mike is stopping him.

You think Mike would not stop Moore unless Mike pull a Roberto Duran on Moore, but worst and you would not know how capable McCallum who was the dangerous body puncher.

True, Mike could attack that body, but Davey was a warrior, and I think he would have to pay a huge price for trying to attack Moore's body. He wouldn't want to take it.

Fair enough and that is your opinion. However, you forget Mike has an iron chin and was difficult to be knock down.

McCallum is in my top five favorites of all time. Moore's prime was very short and he burned out quickly. But in his prime he was a handful. I would think the fight goes the distance with McCallum winning a decision.
I'd be curious to know if these two fought in the amateurs. Wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Thanks

. True about Mike haveing an iron chin, but before Duran, Davey was never floored amateur or pro, and after Duran, I don't think he was either. It would definitely be a good fight, but a close one.

Anyone who gets stopped by Drayton, and Aquino as well as Duran, ain't going to last the distance with the granite chinned, accurate punching McCallum.
5 or 6 rounds of the bodyshots, then Moore's hands will drop and Mike will take the gift of the exposed chin, just like he did versus Don Curry.
After Duran, Davey was quite the same fighter he was earlier. Shame, because he had the potential to be several well known names in his division.

I just don't think you are giving MM enough credit at 154. He was as big a monster at that weight as Duran was at 135, and Moore had nothing to dishearten him with.
I was thinking the same thing about Niles' opinion and do you ever feel that he may watch the McCallum's fight with Don Curry and Julian Jackson that Mike took their best shots with his great chin, but he may denied that Mike has a great chin and this is our opinion on Niles' opinion, but no offense to him.

Certainly no offence to Niles, I just don't think he realises how hard Mike was to beat at Light Middle. Davey Moore certainly wasn't the one to beat him at the weight if either Curry or Jackson couldn't.
Golden Oldie, thanks for noticing that Niles didn't realizes that he was overlooking that Mike was undefeated as light middleweight and yes, he was hard to beat.

Niles is far from alone on that score. Plenty of folks don't give MM half the credit he deserves at 154.
You're right, outside of Niles, others don't give McMCallum half the credit he deserves at 154 like you said and he may overlook McCallum's skills that made his opponents difficult to beat him at that division.
