Was he over-rated or under-rated? Or neither.
Without the booze would he have gone on to be Scotlands greatest fighter or was he just a tough bloke who fought a bunch of past their prime boxers?
He arguable missed his best years but was the same fire that fueled the booze the one that made him a fighter?
And, what the f*ck, is he up to now

There was a poster on ESB many moons ago called The Real McCoy, I’m genuinely more interested what became of him, he was a funny fornicator.

Scott was hard as nails and conditioned supremely by his dad. Understood weight cutting early on too which gave him huge physical advantages come fight night.

He was never going to be Scotland’s greatest although he was very tough. He has the benefit of years of schooling from his Dad who is one of Scotland’s best coaches.
He was huge at the weight and fought mostly past prime guys or smaller guys coming up. He pulled in some huge crowds.
A few years back he came into my carwash in a taxi full of fannies completely mad with it. Was surreal.
What he done in Spain was really out of order, he doesn’t handle drink well and should stay off it completely. Throw some crisps into the mix and it gets scary.

Good question, his rematch win over Medina is one that has been overlooked in recent years. Although, overall I would say he was a big, strong, featherweight with a good engine and strength. He had the strength of a lightweight and he was perhaps a tad fortunate that his too highest profile wins (I would say) vs McCullough and Brodie were against much smaller fighters, past their prime.
The Victor Polo draw was a disgraceful decision, Harrison lost that one clearly and he should have rematched him.
He certainly benefited from some good match making and he put in some solid performances, but when you think he was fighting at around the same time a Barrera, Morales JMM, and Pacquiao were around this weight - then he was really a 2nd line world champion.

I remember during that short period featherweight and light welterweight were the best divisions.
Featherweight has Barrera, Morales, Marquez, PAC man, In Jin Chi and Harrison as the champs and top contenders.
Light welter had Mayweather, Hatton, Witter, Gatti, Vivian Harris, Cotto.
A lot of great matches that never happened.

He was barred from all pubs in his area whilst World Champion. That should have set alarm bells ringing. Booze or crisps related? Who knows?

He's in jail over here now. He was transferred a year or so ago. I was a fan years ago. I went to all his fights. He had some cracking wins.
I've also been to a couple shows where he was in attendance and out his bin! I wouldn't have liked to get on the wrong side of him or his hangers on. He had an aura of menace about him.

He's in Barlinnie. He leathered a couple of guys in a brothel and stole one of their cars I think. It was a mad weekend drunken spree of madness I'm sure.

Just read up on it. He's in Shotts and was due for parole last year. He's in the block. His dad said its because of sectarianism as he's an excellent artist and had drawn Jesus on the crucifix! Other officers are backing him, apparently. Others are saying he's being aggressive. And it was three men he chinned in that brothel.

My bad. Saw some of his artwork. It's pretty impressive. Did it say when he's due for release? Must be pretty soon I'd have thought?

I don't know the system up there, but if he got a knockback last year, he should be able to apply again. He reckoned officers were telling him they'll oppose it all the way until he's too old to throw a punch.

Sadly, for all.of his in ring finery, out of the ring he is a pudendum and a bully.
I know people that know him, including a big guy that is a very hard man and BJJ expert. He ended up putting Harrison in his place one night.
He was banned from every pub in his home town and also banned from most clubs and bars in Glasgow City Centre which tells its own story.
A waste of a good career.
