Daigo Higa vs Andrew Selby?

I was just wondering the high possibility of little KO monster Higa vs Selby for maybe mid 2018. Selby is 3rd in WBC ranking to face Higa for the Belt.
IMO Higa is a good skill, tough and very powerful boxer, but shows a weird and/or awkward punching style that sometimes remember Wilder punching. Against Navarrete, he was nicely tested, but in this case I see Selby winning, he is way smarter and more technical.
Definitely will be one of the top10 best fights of the year.

Pretty sure a decent/aggressive flyweight can beat Selby, especially a guy who can punch.

Selby doesn't want to travel but that's the only way the fight makes money

not sold on selbys boxing tbh. i feel like hes a guy who could look a lot less slick when he steps up in level. also how does he like power? got dropped already i think. and i dont expect his slapping punches to get respect vs top opponents.
selby to me is actually beating his opponents mostly with speed and not so much as skill. technically actually im not sure if even id say hes that strong. i mean from what standpoint is he technically all that good? simply being a point scoring amateur style boxer doesnt mean your technical
i think higa would beat him tbh. and higa although he can get gun ho and load up with some shots, i dont feel hes that sloppy.

but i really want this too. its one of my most wanted. good clash of styes. ppl often say a good boxer beats a good puncher, but here i feel the bigger punching agressor wins.

I'm just in here to comment that Diago Higa is a beast. He's been in my watch list. This guy is now #2 in his division at age 22. He is now a top prospect for future p4p #1. Kosei Tanaka as well.

I put more faith on Kosei Tanaka and Ken Shiro that are far superior in general skills and to keep the undefeated record than Higa.
Some guys who will have to be tested and supposedly that will have nice careers are Masayoshi Nakatani and even maybe Hiroto Kyoguchi.
I suggest keeping more eyes on Satoshi Shimizu, whom probably will make history in Japanese boxing as medalist Kiyoshi Tanabe did finish undefeated but a few know it.

maybe but just because someone is an aggressive come forward guy doesnt necessarily means hes inferior to a boxer. being a hard two handed puncher, relentless, good stamina, good chin etc can take someone a long way and often farther than guys who look neater.
well see. i rate higa high. personally i dont see all this technique your talking about with selby. for one his punch technique is actually quite sloppy and slappy. and hes supposed to be the slick one yet hes the one whose been dropped.

Personally, I've seen nothing from Selby to suggest this wouldn't be a one-sided shellacking.
I'm not totally sold on Higa yet. He looks good, but I feel he is beatable - Kosei Tanaka beats him, for me, and although I'd favour Higa, I could see Nietes using his experience to grind out a hard fought win too. Not Selby though.

You may be right. I just see Tanaka as being slightly the more talented, which could give him more room to adjust in a close fight.
I'd like to see it, that's for sure.

higa will be fighting in april, just 2 months after his last fight. it will be his 5th fight in 14 months.
his opponent is cristofer rosales, who dropped selby and won some rounds but lost a clear ud. rosales has gone 3-o since including a tko in italy of 13-0 italian based mohammed obbadi
selby is fighting frenchman vincent legrand for the ebu title. legrand seems similar to higas french opponent thomas masson, who i believe had the title selbys fighting for but had to vacate to challenge higa for a world title
because higa and selby are total opposites stylistcally it might be hard to compare performances vs common opponents, but rosales did have some notable success against selby , dropping the guy billed as 'slick', and it will be interesting if he can do similar vs higa

and rosales has never been stopped, including going the distance with current champ a division up kal yafai (yafai won by 3 points in an 8 rounder, the refs card was kinda strange with 3 even rounds and only actually 4 outright rounds for the winner)
will be interesting if higa can continue his stoppage streak and set a new japanese record for most straight stoppages from debut. i think hes tied with 2 others , although hes stopped much better opponents then they did
