Edit: I don't actually think that this is actually Eubank Jr. sparring Groves, as was originally implied.
It seems that boxing people, those actually involved in the sport, almost universally favour Groves to emerge victorious, despite Eubank Jr. considered the betting favourite.
Thoughts?

I've watched quite a few YouTube videos and the majority of experts believe that Eubank Jr. will lose against Groves. I don't endorse their opinion, since I personally favour Eubank Jr.
If I have the time later on, I'll produce a list of those experts who favour Groves or Eubank Jr. and you'll see that most of them believe the champ will retain his crown.

I'm leaning towards Groves on points, Eubank jnr too small at the weight, wont hit hard enough to hurt Groves but has enough to last the distance

You're probably right. When I posted it, the title of the video originally suggested that this was the case, but I don't think the other guy is Groves. I've changed the title and the first post in this thread accordingly.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Seemed Eubank Snr stepped in because Jnr was on the receiving end a bit too much for his liking in that spar.
To be honest and in fairness it did seem a bit too heated generally, they weren't pulling their punches. It seemed more of a fight with big gloves and headgear when they were opening up. The fights under the lights are hard enough without going to war in sparring.
Wonder if there is a backstory as to why that spar was so heated? Perhaps not, Eubank Jnr is known for giving no quarter on his sparring partners, maybe he just met someone who was happy to give him a taste of his own medicine.
I can understand Snr not being happy with how that spar was going, but diving in at that point made Jnr look bad and a bit of a protected daddy's boy.

He might drop a few of the early rds but I favour the Eubank engine, intelligence and self belief.

Yeah I'm seeing Eubank taking this now too. Maybe running away with it.

only one of which has been remotely proven so far... and never really whilst getting punched hard repeatedly in the face?
i mean, intelligence? ring intelligence? proven by what?

Throwing a huge volume of punches isn't ring intelligence, and that's all Eubank seems to do. He couldn't figure out the corpse of Abraham, he just threw a lot of punches, 90% of which ended up on Abraham's guard. Groves is the man with ring IQ here, and as long as he sticks to his boxing and jab, and doesn't try to get into a war, I can see Groves picking Eubank apart.

As for the self belief?
I had people tell me Conor McGregor literally did not know how to lose.... just before he tapped out to Diaz.
Easy to come across as having self belief, fight a few bums, put a few self-help/motivational slogans on instagram.

Fascinating fight, so many questions.
Will Groves be too big for Eubank?
Is Groves in a different class altogether?
Can Groves take out Eubank with one shot?
Can Groves do a Billy Joe Saunders here?
On the other hand we have to ask
Will Eubank be far too busy for Groves?
Will Eubank walk through Groves?
In which round will Eubanks stamina prevail?
Will Eubank's self belief be the difference?
Very difficult to predict. We have seen where Grove's limits are, whereas Eubank seems to be on the up and up. Not long left to find out.

why is it that with eubank specificially 'confidence' gets turned into 'self belief'
like does it sound cooler? make eubank seem more like a g?

This is no doubt a step up for Eubank. Groves is a good fighter, saying that; clearly Eubank comes across as a confident person and I believe will be more so than Groves who’s a nervous fighter. Comparing to a b%$sh^%t artist like McGregor please! McGregor was so relieved that he showed happiness in his corner after a couple of relatively successful rounds with Mayweather.
For Kiwi-man-Rider: The comments about his domination of Abraham. A very durable opponent. It wasn’t good enough that he shut off Abrahams offence. Then to criticise Eubank hitting Abraham whilst he had his guard up. Have you seen an Abraham fight? What are you supposed to do? Eubank went to the body, he went around the guard and he went through the guard. He was effective.
I’ve watched the WBSS promo. He comes across as intelligent. Have no idea what that will mean for the fight but clearly, he’s no idiot. Maybe unlikeable yes, but as unlikeable as Groves has been in the past. Not sure about his ring IQ although he seems good at staying safe at distance then getting into his range.
And as for using the term self belief. Yes it is much cooler and in trend/fashionable.

I'm heavily leaning towards groves.
I see first 2 or 3 rounds cautious from both with groves edging with his jab.
Jr will open up around the 4th and tends to be so easy to hit, I can't see him walking through groves right hand (although I was convinced ggg wouldn't walk through Canelo).
Groves power should keep Jr more cautious if he doesn't get ko'd.
Groves will have some worrying moments on the ropes late on but see him doing enough to win a decision.
However if Jr has gggs chin he could stop groves late
