beltran was slow, plodding, easy to hit, and just as previous fight his power looks nothing like it was. guess the peds worn off.

if lomas looking to build a legacy of good wins hed be a waste of the ukranians time and elite talents. this would be the type of fight to make ppl say 'aw f@ck' to loma

As for Rey's PED use. I dont really blame him. He needs to win fights to get his family out of an awful living situation in Mexico. His fists are all he has. I understand why he would cheat. I get it.

Worst thing is that it looks like he's only going to get to fight twice this year. I wouldn't mind this fight if he were fighting 4 times a year.

We will be getting the Ortiz fight, chill out.

Considering all the time and hype TR and ESPN devotes to Beltran--mostly about his family and immigration status--- it makes sense that we'll see Lomachenko vs. Beltran. Probably in May.

Why else put so much effort into building up a fairly ordinary fighter unless he's going to be thrust into a high profile matchup?

Loma-Linares probably won't happen. GB and HBO don't like the May 12 date. Arum will probably just say it's off for now but that they'll "revisit" negotiations at a future time.

Then get used to seeing countless promos on ESPN detailing the greatness of Lomachenko and the warm, fuzzy background story of Beltran.

Beltran has a belt now. Not a bad first fight at the new weight class. Linares would be better, but it didn't work out for May.

I suppose that Beltran winning that vacant title would give a little more pizzazz to an otherwise hohum matchup with Lomachenko.

At least to the casual fan who is probably easily impressed by so-called world championships.

But since Lomachenko only figures to fight twice a year and he's anointed either the #1 or #2 P4P fighter by ESPN (depending on whether the network is either promoting a Lomachenko fight or a Crawford fight) you would prefer to see him in with a top tier champion every time out.

If you fight 4 or 5 times annually, then a breather bout or two is fine, but not when you only appear every 6 months.

beltran looked super ordinary and very slow and easy to hit vs someone not all that good. i will be ultra disappointed if its him. loma will need a very big fight for later in the year for his 2018 not to be disappointing if he fights beltran in may.

Beltran fight sucks. If Loma had any respect he would refuse Crawfords sloppy seconds and demand better from Arum.
