It looks like it could end up being a mandatory fight vs Ocampo, a 22-0 guy that has never fought outside of Mexico.
I read Figurora, who is supposed to fight Broner is "down" to fight Spence too. His DUI charge recently may prevent him from fighting Broner next? Or, maybe he is acting brave because he has a fight lined up already.....maybe not. He beat Spence in 2007, so maybe he has the style to beat him? I doubt it.

Then there is Porter, who said he needs a fight while waiting for Garcia or Thurman. Amazingly, he didn't mention Spence as a possibility for an opponent.

My hope is Porter finds the courage to challenge Spence in June. Then, maybe D Garcia will find the courage to fight Spence at the end of the year. Apparently, Thurman's courage is MIA until next year regarding a match up with Spence.

Ocampo has been mandated next, but is ranked #3.. #1 and #2 rankings are vacant.

Ugas has now taken up #2 place following his win this past weekend.

It will probably be Ocampo, unfortunately.

That would make a Lomachenko-Beltran bout seem high level.

I doubt that Figueroa will take it, even though I suspect his fight with Broner is off.

I said here earlier that SHOWTIME/CBS probably will axe Broner because of his sexual assault arrest.

It's not politically correct right now to reward an accused sexual criminal with a television date and a nice payday.

Figueroa will probably find an easier opponent than Spence who has that mandatory obligation.

That match-up is news to me. I doubt if it is realistic. I heard Matthysse is pushing hard to get the Pacquiao fight.

More realistic to me is Jesse Vargas vs Spence, since Thurman apparently decided he is too much for a tune-up. If not Vargas, Ugas publicly said he is game and wants Spence. Good amateur pedigree, and has a couple of decent wins under his belt at welterweight.

I can't imagine why. He would dominate Vargas. If Thurman thinks Vargas is too tough and plans to avoid him, then there's no chance in hell that he'll ever get in the ring with Spence. Next year or any year.

A few weeks back there was talk of Pacquiao vs Matthysse. GBP said there was no problem making the match and that Arum should call.

That's the last I heard on the subject. I'm sure Arum would prefer to keep Pacquiao in-house.

There's no use letting a rival fighter catch some shine by beating Pacquiao.

Probably very unlikely Matthysse and Thurman hook up.
