As much as I find him to be a total bellend, after Saturday part of me began to feel sorry for him.

It's not like his dad instilled any values in him. For some of his childhood, didn't they send him off to America wish foster parents, or something?

Sr. and his antics may have been amusing in the ring, but when you have a child it stops being about you, and becomes about raising the kid. I know raising children is one of the most difficult things in the world to do, but Sr. doesn't seem to even be trying.

I'm not one for blaming people's past to excuse for being a div to others. But you can kind of see why Jr. has no real perspective in life. He's been surrounded by his dad's moronic behaviour his entire life, and his whole career by yes-men. If he's been told in life that showing off is an important life skill, and all you need to do is train hard and look the part to succeed in boxing, it's easy to let the wrong messages to sink in.

He should chase his dad. He's 28 years old and has the money to be his own man. His dad's a fuckin crackpot.

It’s hard to feel sorry for him. He‘s a pretty successful bloke after all.

Not at all, he fought gallantly and came up short, but can learn from this and come back better.
And ultimately he is now a rich man.

A little. He can only come back stronger from this.

I like Eubank Jr. Always have and stil want to see him successful.

Personally I think people's views on his character are a bit exaggerated. Compared to many boxers he's a fairly well adjusted law abiding kinda guy.

There is nothing to feel sorry for, the Eubanks are unique to themselves, a bit like the Kardashian's. I'm very surprised there isnt a reality show on the Eubanks similar to the Kard's and the Osbourne's. It would make great telly watching them all strut around in jodhpurs and monocles and stuff.

Agree with Coco - I think people are overeacting a tad at times on here. He fought and he fought hard - came up short against the #1 Super Middle in the world in a weight that he is not natural in.

If that would have been the #1 Middle in the world, GGG, we would have been calling Eubank one of the best P4P British boxers.

I've read comments that if it wasn't for his Dad he wouldn't be fighting for ANY title let alone challenging for a world title - reality check - the Jnr himself did WIN the British title (in convincing fashion) he has beaten what I would still say are decent EBU level fighters. If Rocky Fielding shut out Arthur Abraham now, we'd be praising that performance to the hilt.

IMO at least, he is still a Top 10 fighter in both weight divisions - he is superior to EBU level, not quite "proper" world level - but there are world champions he could fight and he could beat comfortably without making changes - he is still a pretty good fighter with the attributes he has.... is he this P4Per that his dad hyped him to be, no, but as he rightly said Saturday showed he can hang with the very best at Super Middleweight, yes come up short, but Groves knew he was in a fight on Saturday make no mistake of it.... and Groves is surely #1 in the division.

Out of the fighters at Middle and Super Middle these are STILL the only fighters that I would make Eubank a sizeable underdog against.
Groves, Canelo, Ramierez, GGG, Jacobs.

There are a few guys in which he would be an underdog against - but not a sizeable one - I would include Saunders in that list.

The rest of them I would say are 50:50 calls and there includes several world champions there.

Chris Sr and Karen have done a great job with Jr IMO. He's good looking, polite, well spoken, driven, tough, intelligent and succesful. I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest. The only bit of him that's annoying is that he's a social media whore but so is half the world.

Not really, he is a really successful pugilist and was brought up in wealth and had life experiences that most people never have.

We had no money growing up and grew up in a working class town, I wanted to be a successful boxer like Eubank Jr - I would never have had achieved that if I lived a hundred lifetimes. I found my way eventually but it took a lot longer than 28 years.

He has a great life of great achievements even if it ended tomorrow. I don't feel sorry for him one iota.

When he first came onto the scene I didn't like him. As his career progressed I started to warm to him but now I have gone off him again. He just seems like everything is about him, he wasn't particularly gracious in defeat, I didn't hear him wish Groves any luck in recovering from his injury, instead he just kept saying GG kept head-butting him and he could take his place if he cannot continue in the tournament.

I remember reading years ago that Snr gave his sons up for adoption to some women in America, if true its strange that Jnr seems so keen to please his dad.

I do to a point in that he's been told that he's something he's not and his ego must of took a battering . It's not the losing that was the problem it's that he was exposed as having terrible feet and looked raw .

Maybe that's why he's so keen. He's felt rejected in the past.
