Record padding, mismatches

I know this is low hanging fruit but does any other (Dangerous) sport sanction deliberate mismatches in order to keep a competitor 'Busy' at the expense of the health, Mental or otherwise of the opponent.
I know that starting out a fighter needs experience but after at least stepping up to 6 rounds or above there should be a requirement to match fighters more closely. The below is just an example but I felt sick watching some Aussie fights recently. So a fighter cancels? don't bring in a chump. A guy who professes to want to fight for a Championship and is a beast fights a guy who can't fight. to numerous to mention here.
What do others think should we allow this crap to continue just to put on a card? I say no.

And I love boxing

You raise a good point, and the hidings dished out to over-matched opponents can't be doing their brains much good.

Yes their should be a minimum win/loss difference between opponents. With the exception of many Philo/Mexican fighters who start young and suffer many losses early I their careers.

It isn't as simple as a one-size-fits-all solution.

Take the case of Lomachenko for example. Should he have been forced to fight 1 and 2 fight novices when he began in the pro ranks?

All true but watching Bilal Akkaway fighting Rogerio Damasco made me sick to my stomache.
I would never want to see that again.

agree there the norm today its seems but they are too much sense for business for them to stop any time soon

they get your card filled and build your fghters record and keep them actve with little risk for your investment (your fighter)
