Herbie Hide has been arrested after failing to attend court for motoring offences. The ex-boxer is now due to appear before Norwich magistrates on Monday.
A spokeswoman for Norwich police, said: "We can confirm a 33-year-old man has been arrested for failing to appear in court."
Hide had been convicted of three motoring offences back in March, namely for driving a Fiat Punto with no insurance in May 2003 and for driving a Bentley with no insurance and no MoT in June 2003.
But he failed repeatedly to attend court dates for sentencing.

I was watching his fight against Tony Tucker last night on the Holy Tyson 2 rematch night. Man he banged Tucker out.
unfortunately he' pretty much done now.
wonder if he regrets pussying out of the Williams fight now.

That would've been an awesome match. A match Danny may well have lost!

He did indeed wollop Tucker that night, althought to be far Tucker was totally shot by then. IMO Hide would not have beaten a prime Tucker.
The last I heard of Tony Tucker was that Ron Lyle was helping him find a job in Las Vegas as a security gaurd.

Maverick - exactly. It should be a criminal offence for a former world heavyweight champion (even dodgy WBO) to drive a Punto.

Did you notice I labelled him an "ex-boxer". Give Mick Hennessy a world class fighter and he hasn't got a clue.

He seems more like Peter Pan - its seems years ago that Bowe threw him about like a rag doll and he is still only 33.

Lock him up for christs sake. I'm serious.
He just thinks he can do as he pleases not the first time he has not turned up for court appearances etc. He thinks he's above the law a few months locked down should sort that out.

It's a shame really. He's a talented boxer, glass jaw or no glass jaw. He could still challenge for European honours minimum in my opinion.

It wasn't that long ago he and Danny Williams were scheduled to meet for the EU title! How things have changed...

I hear the reason he drives a fiat punto is he can get away with kerb crawling as they dont go that fast.

Plus if he picks the toms up in Hennesys hire car he can leave the 'upholstery cleaning' to him when he gives it back.

Hide isn't even liked by his own countrymen. Henry Akinwande told him to "piss off!" after they fought in the 1989 ABA heavyweight final at Wembley.

Akiwande can piss off after the career he's had.

Akinwande's career isn't that bad....achieved rather a lot, but fell short at the top level, no shame in that.

Hide was only a kid in 1989, Akinwande was a bit out of order IMO!!!!
The pair of them have wasted there careers..... atleast Hide got some decent paydays along the way... Akinwande has got peanuts and is an extremely talented fighter

The ABA banned Akinwande for six months for wearing his Olympic vest into the ring the night he beat Hide. Crazy. Around that same time headguards were made compulsory in amateur boxing, and the game went into massive decline.
Can you imagine the ABA finals being held at Wembley today?

His performance against LL is what he'll be remembered for. A quitter. Being 1/2 Nigerian myself, I can never forgive him for his cowardice.
