Undefeated Joseph "JoJo" Diaz Jr. knocked out Victor Terrazas with a left to the body at 3:00 of the third round of a scheduled 10-round featherweight bout Thursday night at the Fantasy Springs Hotel Casino in Indio, California.

Diaz knocked down Terrazas twice in the opening round, first with a body shot and then with a left hook to the head. Terrazas, 35, beat the count both times and survived until the bell.

Diaz, 25, entered the bout as the No. 1 contender for the WBC 126-pound title, and after his victory, he called out WBC featherweight titleholder Gary Russell Jr., who Diaz claimed has been ducking him.

terrazas is washed up, had been iced in 2 not long before by a prospect and hasnt scored a notable win in 5 years and even then just barely got by

diaz vs russell would be far better then what either has been doing lately. russell especially needs to be fighting a lot more and vs better opponents.

russell has 3 fights since 2014. its 2018 now.

ridiculous. and his last 2 were vs weak opponents who do nothing good for his reputation.

hes a talented guy who i remember ppl once picked to beat loma and then some even picked him to win a rematch. but hes doing hardly anything. maybe he just doesnt like to fight that much and is content earning his hundreds of grand once a year vs mediocre opponents
