Just because Saunders made Lemieux look jank don't take away what he done before that fight. Spike would get battered

If you're not a superior boxer to Lemieux you're in for a very painful night. It would be fun to watch but short and brutal for Spike.

I think it would look very similar to the Curtis Stevens fight.

Spike's too brave for his own good in this one.

He looked in fine form against Douglas (who loaded up on everything and blew himself out), but I'm reminded of how strong Cletus Seldin looked against Ortiz with a similar walk-forward style, only to come unstuck with it a month later against Ulysse.

Golovkin's the only one who took the fight to Lemieux successfully, and very carefully at first. I think Lemieux's chin is good enough to win this for him.

ggg, usually a hittable bomber, boxed, lemieuxs head off and hardly got touched, makes me wonder if lem seriously flattered bjs. ggg has never come close to looking so hard to hit or being that good a 'boxer' vs anyone else

but ya, spike is far more lems type, though id think spike is live as lem just aint so much better

If you were to hand craft an opponent for Lemieux it would be Spike unfortunately. It’ll be a fun brawl while it lasts but Lemieux will stop him within 8.

I think that's more down to Golovkin making the choice though. He doesn't normally try and play the 'boxer' to be fair. I'm pretty sure that he could have used that similar patient style behind his jab against the likes of Stevens, Macklin, Rubio, Murray, Geale, Brook etc but he prefers to fight on the front foot.

Lemieux vs Spike will be fun while it lasts but I think Lemieux will be a bit too quick and sharp for Spike and should be able to beat him to the punch.
