March 2018 is the best month for Heavyweight boxing since May 1983

It depends on what rankings you reference, but there are arguably 3 HW fights scheduled in March where all 6 fighters are in the top 10. In Boxrec, all are in the top 15; Ring has 5 of 6 in their top 10. In my ratings, they are all in the top 12.

The last time this happened was almost 35 years ago. In May of 1983 there were 4 intra-top ten fights: Holmes-Witherspoon, Dokes-Weaver II, Page-Snipes, and Berbick-Gordon.

This month we have Joshua-Parker, Wilder-Ortiz, and Whyte-Browne, plus Povetkin adds a 7th highly-ranked fighter. Of course with most of the action at the end of the month, there's still time for disappointing cancelled/postponed fights. Trying to not be pessimistic. :KO:

For those interested, link below shows my current rankings and those post-May of 1983:

I agree, I'm also highly surprised they are only 1.5 times fights in the PTBF. Even the unification fights! What will the factor be if a 3 year inactive champ would fight someone decent?
