I think Clinton Woods did Area, British, Commonwealth, European then World - I guess the only reason he didn't do the English was it wasn't around in them days!

Good question. Had a brief look and the closest I’ve found is Josh Wale who won an area then drew for the English and then drew for the British.

Yeah. Used to be probably 4 or 5 Midlands title fights a year I would quite look forward to, they don't seem to come along nearly as much any more.

Not the point I know, but that’s not what people mean when they say ‘the traditional route’.
The English title is relatively new and wasn’t included.

Off the top of my head.
Tyson Fury had English, British, Commonwealth and European but no area title
I think either Ryan Rhodes and/or Jamie Moore have British, Commonwealth and European but again no Area
Darren Barker won British, Commonwealth and European but not the Southern Area.

Mickey Hunter won Area, British (outright), European. Then boxed for IBF world title.

When did Area titles get created?
Crawford Ashley went central, European (close SD loss), British, European (draw), WBA (TKO loss), British, WBA (pts loss), European (lost on 2nd defence), British, Commonwealth, European before losing all 3 to Woods. Quite the career.
I think Sibson is the only person to challenge for a world title at the same time as a British title and Lewis the only time a Commonwealth title fought for at the same time as an eliminator but could be wrong on the latter.

You are correct on Tony Sibson as it was against Dennis Andries, who later picked up a British title at Cruiserweight,. As for Lennox Lewis it was against Donovan Ruddock.
