One of the more (the most?) robberies in the history of boxing. Firpo won the fight.....he was the new champ......the report says "at the count of nine....." dempsey was more than 9 sec out of the ring....and he was helped by the audience to be on his feet again......

what´s your opinion about this fight folks???

im not sure how it was in those days but today you have twenty seconds to get back into the ring.

point two is that Firpo half pushed Dempsey out of the ring.

point three is that if Firpo was so close to winning he should have sealed the deal. He couldnt.

point four: Firpo didnt deserve a shot at the title in the first place and was probably happy that he recieved a career high payday just by stepping into the ring with Dempsey.

I agree with that...... 20 seconds?? are you sure? but JD was helped by people to recover from the KO. IMO Firpo clearly won that fight, I never said that he deserved to be the champion....cause JD was in another level in "boxistic" terms.

I've read that after the fight Firpo also made a nice living touring his home country showing films of his wild fight against Dempsey.

yeah, that´s true, very similar thing happened with bonavena after Ali´s fight.... nowadays TV programs recall the fight as a main event in Argentina´s Boxing history

But Firpo won the fight!! he was the champ
