wilder is faster
though when he gets wild his punches also have to travel farther
aj has much better technique, and also a bigger variety of punches

Parker!
Whoops, I mean Wilder!
But there is no point being fast if your not accurate. AJ may be slightly slower, but more purposeful.

Joshua....
His stance is stronger and more comfortable.. His footwork is cleaner.. He sees openings quicker and responds more quickly and smoothly... When he hurts you he follows up with more precision... He evades the incoming with more ease...
But they are both extremely cool under fire... It's the first time I've ever seen Wilder hurt bad... There was no panic or fear... His whole world was making sure the next shot didn't connect and he got out of a round that had a lot of time remaining.

AJ used to be, but he gained so much muscle, he's not any more, he doesn't have real stamina any more either.

AJ is quicker and more technical with his shots. Straight punches down the pipe could be deontays downfall. The big man can fight but he's lacking any defensive qualities. It wouldn't surprise me if he got a KO because he has mental power but I think AJ takes him.

You need stamina at the top level and in the championship rounds especially. AJ took Wlad out late. That shows he does have stamina. Yeah he'll get tired because of his muscle mass etc.... But the guy trains hard and is underrated when it comes to stamina....

Both of them have fast hands, but Wilder is much faster on his feet.

Wilder is definitely faster but I think that Joshua has as much or more power than Wilder if comparing right hands. I think that this fight will not be decided by speed or power though. I think it's going to come down to Joshua's just being too big for Wilder. Wilder needs to put on some weight for that fight because if he walks in at 214 lbs again, I think that will be too much of a disadvantage. 225 at least is where he needs to be.

I'd say his stamina isn't great, it's just that not many people can make him fight at a pace he isn't comfortable with.
I think unfortunately Wilder is too......well....wild, he will walk onto a massive right hand down the pipe early, and get put to sleep.
My money is on the guy with the better technique in a fight between two murderous punchers.

My money is on AJ as well. I'd have loved to see Fury in with Wilder. I think he'd have clowned him!

Wilder looks faster to me.
I don't think Joshua's handspeed is anything to write home about.
He isn't slow by any means, but he's certainly no Floyd Patterson, that's for sure.

Joshua looked like he had decent hand speed for such a big man when he turned pro, but I think he's looked slower recently. As someone else mentioned probably because of the weight he's added.
Joshua's punches are more textbook and his technique is tighter, so he can probably throw quicker combinations, whereas Wilder struggles to put more than a 1-2 together because his horrendous balance means he just ends up windmilling and his punches don't flow properly. But in terms of the speed of a single shot I'd probably lean towards Wilder.

Wilder is faster and lighter on his feet.
Joshua is more skillful, and has superior accuracy and timing.
So I think the two advantages even each other out really and ensure that both would have to be very careful in each exchange.

It takes a lot of stamina to go into the championship rounds with an ATG heavyweight Champion, forcing the fight most of the way and throwing hard combinations instead of 1's and 2's - and making an ATG fight with a big, powerful, and fast opponent who's capable of ending a fight with one punch from either hand.
AJ's stamina has a lot to do with his training regimen... He does swimming, flexibility, resistance, body weight, weight lifting, plus numerous speed, balance, and hand-eye and foot-eye coordination drills... Joshua won the 100 meter sprint competition in SuperStars and Joe Frazier and Ken Norton ran like turtles and finished well behind the field... Joshua also was the eventual Superstars Champion while Frazier and Norton finished last.
Ali refused to get involved with the Super Stars competition because everybody knew he was very slow afoot... Wilder is slow and nearly got knocked out by an old man who they put on the shelf for over 2 years to age him into uselessness.

Not fast enough to catch Takam, Ruiz, Cojanu, or Fury with a knockdown or KO punch.
AJ knocked Takam down and would have finished him if the fight weren't prematurely stopped.

You really love that Superstars TV programme.
Why do you pay it so much credence in relation to how good a particular boxer is?
Maybe Justin Gatlin should take up boxing, because he's quite good at the 100m sprint & has actually won an Olympic title & World Championship doing it.
