Douglas in his Tyson-fight version vs Stewart in his Holyfield-fight (the 1st one) version.
Who would you pick to win and why?

Douglas.... Because he was bigger, taller, faster, stronger, smarter, and had more skills.
But if Buster showed up fat and unmotivated -- he'd lose and might get knocked out... He had mucho problems -- but definitely the guy who fought Tyson was a formidable Heavyweight for any era... It makes you wonder what he could have achieved had he trained with that kind of motivation and confidence his whole career.

Yeah, Douglas was very good against Tyson, in that shape he would have knocked Stewart out. Stewart had a KO opportunity himself, but that was his only chance against prepared and motivated Douglas.

I was never a big fan of the Destroyer.
Seemed limited. A good puncher but not as big as his reputation. Boxed well but somewhat slow and one dimensional.
When Douglas was motivated and in shape, he was a quality fighter.
He had a terrific fast, hard jab and good mobility.
He would have easily controlled Stewart.
By the late rounds, Buster would be teeing off at will.
Douglas by 9th round KO.

Pretty much agree with that.
The Buster who beat Tyson fight would have only lost to a handful of fighters whoever fought in the history of the sport. Alex Steward was not one of them.
I will say that Stewart did fight a decent fight against Holyfield even though he lost. He may have made it interesting against Douglas, but he would have lost.

He did surprisingly give Holyfield a difficult evening.
And he turned Foreman's face into a grotesque gargoyle's mask after being decked and on his way out early.
But consistency is what separates the good fighters from the great fighters. Stewart lacked that consistency in his efforts.
Of course, so did Douglas.
