Helenius jabbing and circling
Throwing an occasional straight to the body
He is looking like a HW who wants to do rounds
In the 7th Helenius started to breath heavy... from jabbing
Yury started to pressure him in the ropes where he grinded
Got some blood flowing from the nose of Helenius doing that
Helenius is done... he is vulnerable, uninterested and a sucker for the leaped left hook

Helenius has never impressed me
He looked like a graceful elephant. A snorer.

The only thing good Helenius ever had was fluid combo punching with power. For his lumbering size, pretty impressive hand speed. It took him a few rounds to get going in his prime, I can't even imagine watching his fights now since apparently he seems unwilling to throw.

His heart just doesn't seem to be in it.

Before the hand injury, he was actually one of the best straight puncher from the backfoot... good jab and counter straights with nasty pop... great chin too... now he is a slow and clumsy fighter... lacks dedication and proper stamina

Seems like too much of a nice guy to mix it up. Worse than Wlad. The type that boxes because they're good at it, not because they actually enjoy fighting.

Helenius fractured hes right hand in round one.
Boxed with only left hand rest of the fight.
One of the worst robberies I have seen this year
Robert "The Robber" Helenius.

I've sparred probably 100 rounds with Robert back in the day. Robert throughout his career as done one of two things.
1. Fought up to the level of his opposition
2. Fought down to the level of his opposition
Robert is a very mellow guy who could turn into a mean S.O.B. in the ring in a matter of seconds.
I'm a believer him & Marco Huck ruined themselves by leaving Sauerland Promotions who had 2 major things keeping them moving up... trainer Ulli Wagner who I believe to be a highly under rated coach. The other major factor was Sauerland had great matchmaker Hagen Doering who knew who they needed to fight, but more importantly, when to fight them.

I imagine him apologizing for every punch landed...."thump...sorry....pow...sorry..."

As I said on another thread, that being a fan of Dillian Whyte, I was alarmed at how Helenius appeared to have him rubber-legged in the first or second round of their fight. I was wondering if Dillian would weather the storm and then Helenius seemed to retreat into his shell, where he stayed until the end of a poor spectacle.
It was pretty boring but I was more relieved than disappointed. It certainly made me re-evaluate his chances of taking Deontay's belt from him, if Wilder decided a well paid excursion to London might be good preparation for Joshua.

Apparently he broke his hand during the fight. It's a shame, I always liked him. He's always getting injured. I remember after he blew away Sam Peter, I thought he had the size and toughness and power to become a Heavyweight champion. Unfortunately after blowing out his shoulder against Chisora, he's never been the same.

Helenius was pretty badly out of shape for the Whyte fight. He had only one week to prepare and had flu just bit earlier.
Here is what he got to say after that match...

rob had a fun rise up until the chisora fight. some pretty nasty kos. he was always limited but he did have some sharp and powerful hands and threw a mean long right hook to the body.
but then his injuries got to a point where it took his power away, and without that he doesnt have much to fall back on. and then his motivation wanes, and also he worsens the hand in fight and struggles to throw it, saying in that last interview even that the pain made him question whether he should continue.
so he looks pretty much done, but he wasnt always total shit and 2 ebu titles is a respectable achievement.

He could make a bit of money as a gatekeeper now. I'd imagine a lot of matchmakers for the next up and coming buch of heavyweights would be lining up a guy like Helenius.

Not at all. The scorecards when he fought Chisora were embarrassing. May as well have had Stevie Wonder , Hellen Keller and Ray Charles judging
