What do you think (supposing they will be in the same weight division with Loma) ?

The kid that fought last night against a Journeyman or a World Champion?
Is this a serious question?
Garcia may well prove to be a danger to Elite level talent at some point, but he's still a ways off from being ready for them kinda challenges.

garcias mainly a can crusher at this point, which is fine enough considering hes simply a 19 or 20 year old prospect.
hes no threat as long as hes not boxing remotely close in opposition to loma, and i doubt he will be stepped up that to that level for another few years at minimum

Considering Ryan Garcia has fought absolutely nobody of note and Davis is established as one of the top Super-Featherweights in the world, I'll go with Tank.
Ryan Garcia also comes across as a prick so I hope he loses soon.

I mean about the long-term, not about this year......

That's the thing. As good as Garcia looked last night, you never really know if a guy is THAT kinda talent until you see him in against respectable opposition. Beating guys like he beat last night would never really be able to give us any indication about what level he's truly capable of rising too.
I enjoyed his performance last night for what that's worth though, and it will be fun to watch him rise.
Good chance he won't be in the same weight class as Loma by the time he gets to that level anyway...assuming he does, which is a big assumption because that's certainly not a guarantee.
Some guys never get past the prospect stage. Francisco Bojado and Ricardo Williams Jr. can tell you about that. As can many others.

I can remember (it was perhaps 2010 or 2011) I had watched two young HW US prospects, and the commentator had predicted the bright future for them.
I am speaking about Seth Mitchel.....and Deontay Wilder..........
I think the genuine boxing fan should recognize the genuine boxing potential before everyone recognizes that.

You can certainly have high thoughts of a guy, but you don't really know what they got until you see them handle themselves well at a certain level.
It doesn't necessarily have to be Elite either, but it needs to at least be somebody that's a known fringe contender type.
For instance I could tell and predicted future P4P greatness for Terence Crawford the first time I ever saw him against Breidis Prescott.
Prescott is no world beater, but he's good enough that I could tell by how Crawford operated that he'd be a very good fighter, and would go a long way. He has.
There wasn't enough in Garcia's performance last night to go any further than I want to see him again as far predicting his future in the sport.

Seth Mitchel was a prospect eight years ago. He hasn't become anything more than a prospect.

Deontay Wilder was a prospect eight years ago. He has become much more than a prospect.
Will Ryan Garcia in eight years be in the Mitchel's position, or in the Wilder's position ?

Gilgamesh, I enjoy every time I see the new talent in the boxing world, and I am very sad every time if I overrate "the new talent"............Honestly, I don't know a lot about R. Garcia (I know a little bit more about Davis) but I hope he will have the great career.
