#1- I never said Marciano could beat Liston; I said he could beat Patterson, but come up short against Sonny. Don't know where you ever got that confused unless you are quote mining something I may have said from a decade ago when I was a younger fan.

#2- I said that Baer didn't really try. I never said he threw the fight. He only poured it on in round fifteen, and in reality he was happier not being the Heavyweight champion of the world. If that means taking a dive to you, then that's on you.

Baer could have thrown the fight. He was clowning throughout. Baer didn't look very disappointed when he lost.

I don't see where this thread is relevant to "Boxing History".
