In pursuit of a quality environment for discussion

Opinions.......are just that..........let's have just as many opinions as can be expressed.....
and if I may make a suggestion.......let's have less bundled undies.

It is my suggestion that if you don't agree with someone......just disagree..........period.

Conflict is the very nature of the sport we share an enthusiasm for.
So....Make your point and counterpoints. And be a GOOD SPORT.

Boxer's conflict in the ring, and give a handshake before the fight, and on occasion a hug after the fight.
Maybe we could take a lesson from them.

What is taking place too often is a difference of opinion, followed by unsportsmanlike name calling when opinions differ. and there lies the infraction....

Are we seriously going to grab our pitchforks and torches for opinions?

IF YOU FEEL THE NEED>>>>>PLEASE CONSIDER THE USE OF THE IGNORE FEATURE.........and when you see someone quote the person you are ignoring.....(which of course inadvertently reminds you of that particular "deplorable"....USE YOUR OWN INNATE ABILITY to attempt to ignore said deplorable. Also, consider flexing those old unused "forgiveness muscles" on occasion, and just let a foolish person be a bit foolish (if that is your take) without a personal attack response.

And though I recognize popularity of contributors can be a dynamic, I'd really like to avoid it becoming an issue here.
And I am seeing a resurgence of many quality contributors dropping back in to have a say, and it's a welcome turn of events for many of us.

Fair Warning,

Mods may take action regarding those who use expletives, and personal attacks, and will TAKE NO ACTION against those who are simply expressing opinions. If you go aggressively after a fellow contributor on a personal basis for there stated opinion with hate speech, expletives, or personal attacks..... expect a response.

Hatespeech, Expletives, and personal attacks have always been against the rules. Mods really do want to allow for some venting now and again....so there may be a difference regarding actions for the use of the 3 stooges favorite word "moron" vs more vile language which is painful to read,or pointed personal attacks which kids should not have to read.

My best suggestion is for people to simply tolerate diverse opinions.

Capiche?

I have high regard for a good discussion. And for a day or so, I'll leave this thread open for comments with the expectation of soliciting some helpful feedback, ideas and contributions. However if this thread becomes a lightening rod for negativity, name calling, bitching, whining......I will lock it or delete it as that would render it useless.

It is my intention to facilitate improved communication, and prefer NOT to limit peoples ability to have a lively discussion.

How about unbundling your own undies and taking your own advice? And start responding with reasoned arguments instead of snidely, doofus personal attacks – since you never have an argument? :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :D

You are right. It's gets carried away and more importantly changes the course of the discussion (Tangents to nowhere). I pledge to be more civil as I've decided a couple of days ago that I was no longer enjoying our forum...thank you for bringing this up and let's hope we can all look at alternative opinions as a learning experience.

Really Kalan? Not even on this "call out" can you be civil? C'mon...you're smarter than this.
Stop getting your panties bundled up man... That was a joke.

I wonder if Saad has been permanently banned for telling BuzzBox to FO :o :oo :D

I defended Saad, rather liked him.

I took no action against him.

What I really like is civil give and take. Even if it gets lively.....as long as we stay within the parameters stated above.

Let's run with that.

Way to take a simple request, and try to make an argument out of it. This was entirely unnecessary on your part, and I'd ask you to refrain from this sort of thing in the future. Buzz's post here was perfectly reasonable, and didn't call for this sorta response.

Are you certain that The 3 Stooges favorite word was "moron?"

I was sure that it was "imbecile." As when Moe would say (usually to Curly) "Oh, an intelligent imbecile."

Perhaps BoxBuzz recalls that excellent Stooges short where deranged Curly becomes a world class heavyweight boxer as long as Larry plays Pop Goes the Weasel on his violin.

If only all of us here could be as kind and gentlemenly as the Stooges.

Yeah like Moe "Why you idiot" and slap the face... twist the nose... gouge the eyes... the hand quaver from the belly button up beneath the chin and a harder slap... Poor Larry "Why'd you do that for?" .... "Because you're ugly" .... looks in the mirror.

Sometimes Kalan, I have a hunch that Moe is your role model.

Boxer's conflict in the ring, and give a handshake before the fight, and on occasion a hug after the fight.

Maybe we could take a lesson from them.
This gets so tiresome ...

... but in any case ... let me explain once again ... (for the umpteenth time) ... how it all works ...

Boxing is a Martial-Art ... and Martial-Arts (theoretically) work on a very deep level ... they change the way people behave ... not only when it come to "fighting" ... ... ... indeed ... fighting has little, if anything, to do with it ... it's about personal development ... about being a better person ... a better man ...

... (though what it really does is reconfigure one's brain architecture ... though no one else really understands that) ...

At any rate ... what it all means is that the practice of boxing ... AS A MARTIAL ART ... manifests itself in the practice of everyday life ... in everything about a person ... ESPECIALLY in how one expresses oneself outside the ring ... (i. e. verbally) ...

Cheap shots, sucker punches and low blows are as unacceptable in casual discourse, courtroom argument, political debate (and internet forums) as they are in the ring ... and that is one of the primary reasons that the study of boxing is so important ...

... not only to the individual ... but to society at large ... to the advancement of civilization ... the improvement of the human condition ... and the future of humankind ....

Remember ... Boxing is a pure product of the Western Enlightenment ... and it manifests the values of the Western Enlightenment to a greater degree than any other human activity ... (bar none) ...

... (hope that helps) ... ...

Some arguments are of greater importance. You know some know what they are talking about but some don't at all.
