anyone want pricey to continue

big pricey once again shows flashes of serious offensive gifts, this time vs a top opponent, only to get stopped again, quite hard.
tbf, prices never lost below euro level, plus he gave counts to thompson, hammer, and pov. this mightve been his best losing performance.
think price can absolutely do well at domestic level vs guys like cornish. but hes shown no desire to have a run there. anyone here who wants him to go on? has he commented on it?

Yep. Povitkin wasn't quite right when he came back after the bell, he should have been jumped on by Price and put to sleep.
I haven't seen a statue KO for ages though, the way price was struck rigid.

Only the guys he used to bully at school would want him to continue*.
He's not cut out for boxing at the highest level & unless he wants to be a journeyman, I don't see the point.
Besides, he's a qualified plumber & I've never seen a poor plumber, so he'll be fine if he quits boxing, plus he's got the added bonus of the fact that no-one would argue with him if he did a botch job!
*I'm not aware that Price was actually a bully at school, I am just trying to be clever.

Why would he continue, what can he possibly achieve. Make a few quid at british level maybe but thats only if he wins the title and he probably loses to hughie

He's got the boxing equivalent of darts yips, he knows what to do, but can't let his hands go. He didn't follow in when he hurt Povetkin, he just stood there not knowing what to do, his corner were then telling him to let shots go at the start of the next round, and Price just couldn't.
As everyone says he's a great lad, so I'd rather see him get on with his life and not get punched anymore, as it'll end like last night.

The problem now is, how do you match him?
If you're an up-and-coming prospect or a fringe contender, you're getting no credit for knocking him out but he's still got undeniable fight-ending power. The risk/reward balance is way off.

Yeah the likes of Gorman or others at Brit level are just not going to fight him and may even swerve Brit level to avoid him.

No, Price should retire.
He has the heart but not the tools.
You have to have big bollox to get in the ring knowing there is a very good chance you are going to lose flat on your back.
The only reason that fight went 5 rounds is purely because of the height and reach difference. If Povetkin was the same size it would have been much quicker.
Price just cannot take a shot.
He didnt look as scared tonight as ive seen him in the past but the outcome was still the same.
After that knock out it was bloody lucky Price wasnt injured, permanently, There is no point trying to pretend you can win a world title or compete at that level. Price should have made a few quid, granted not to set him up comfortably for life but he still has his health.
No its time to get out im affraid

Price still has paydays with the likes of Hughie Fury, Lenroy Thomas, Dave Allen and Joe Joyce...

No he should retire.
Can't hold a shot. The one that put him in a world of trouble, fair enough was to the temple but it was a clipping shot and I've seen those bounce off other fighters. Tyson Fury laughs at shots like that.
That's the basic thing missing for Price, he's terrified cos he knows he can't hold a proper shot. It's been fun but I don't want to see this tree felled any more times.

I'd like to see him fight the Hughie Fury vs Sam Sexton winner for the British title.
If he can beat Hughie then a fight with Tyson would be possible. He could also make interesting defences of the title against Chisora, Joyce, Dubois etc.
Neither Hughie or Sexton are big punchers, so if he can't beat them then there's not much hope for him.

ya, think someone like thomss would be a good level, but problem is price doesnt fight there for some reason, its just journeymen and then a euro/world level loss, and repeat

Up to him, there are paydays for him left... he might want to see if he can win the EBU belt to get the collection of belts - but really I would advice him to retire.... he just doesn't have the chin for it. Although Stamina wise seemed to be better last night.

Price never won the Lonsdale Belt outright did he? He has unfinished business there.
Heavyweight is probably Britain's strongest domestic division. There are loads of good fights he can have for that title.
Hughie Fury is ranked higher than him, so it's not as if it's a step down for him in the first place.
Hughie would be his best win by a fair margin.

Price would never get near 'Shades of Ali' Fury.
In fact, I think Justin Gatlin would struggle to catch 'Shades of Ali'.
Fury would win a boring shutout, because he has about as much power as an exhausted battery, so even David Price could probably stand up for 12 rounds against him.

Solid talk from Horse.
Still a few fights for him to target and easily another 100k in the bank for taking a couple.
