Povetkin vs Price fight saved the night

Yeah Povetkin did what most expected to do but I think the father time is catching him up. He wasn't the same soviet tank like in the Takam and Perez fights.

Tbf that short left hook from Price would have shaken up anyone and given the height and reach disparity Povetkin had to get hit with something.

I thought he did ok. Price did ok too given what we know of his fragility.

All in all it provided more drama than the rest of the bill combined,

People mocked me when I persistently claimed that the Povetkin-Price bout would be far more competitive than they expected it to be, as they believed it would be a complete mismatch, but it clearly wasn't.

My only surprise was the duration of the bout, as I expected it to last at least six rounds, but the Russian got the job done one round earlier... and scored a particularly nasty KO.

Even though Povetkin proved he's still a world-class operator, I think he loses badly and quickly to Wilder and Joshua. He would probably be overwhelmed by the likes of Ortiz and Whyte also.

Well, Povetkin's fight was better, but for me Joshua-Parker was also fun to watch, because of unexpectedly good opposition from Parker.

Yeah, I wouldn't go that far.
But it was far more competetive than most expected and Parker deserves credit for that.

Povetkin vs Price was a bit of a war, I enjoyed it.

Yeah for sure becasue fight AJ vs Parker was boring as shit. I don't know why AJ was so bad, probably too much respect for opponent and Parker was too fast for him.

Like he "lost badly" to Klitchko ?

Time doesn't stand still.

Povetkin's bout against Klitschko took place four and a half years ago and he'll be 39 years old the next time he steps foot inside the ring.

Also, we saw chinks in the Russian's armour during his last two outings, when he was wobbled by opponents that were considered huge underdogs beforehand.

I'm not saying that Povetkin isn't a good fighter, but I doubt the likes of Wilder and Joshua will let him off the hook if they hurt him like Price and Hammer did.

Look, I'm merely expressing an opinion and I could ultimately be proven wrong, but it's just my belief that Povetkin isn't as durable or effective as he once was.

The Russian is clearly still a world-class fighter, but I strongly suspect that he's no longer good enough to be included amongst the top four of the division.

I can agree with the time argument and in the post in general. You start making sense.

I just came for the Povetkin fight. That was the real main event. Price looked better than he ever did before I thought, but Povetkin is the real heavyweight world champion. Unlike Joshua and Wilder he wins his fights without the help of crook refs and judges, and he even has to contend with out and out western gangsters from organized crime's own city in the desert, namely Doctor Margaret Goodman and her Las Vegas NeVADA drug test crew (look her up and see what her patients have to say about her!)

So Povetkin is the real heavyweight champion of the world, x2x?

Exactly which champion did he dethrone to claim this honor?

Last time I saw him in a real world title fight, the Russian was being bounced up and down the canvas like a Super Ball.

And again with this non-stop diatribe against the lady doctor in Nevada.

I'm beginning to think that there's a little gender bias here. Sort of like when fans rail endlessly against the scorecards of female judges ( you know who they are) but barely mention the questionable scores of male judges.

Wilder. Wilder chickened out of his fight with Povetkin.

Last time I saw him in a real world title fight, the Russian was being bounced up and down the canvas like a Super Ball.

Do you often confuse your nightmares with reality?

And again with this non-stop diatribe against the lady doctor in Nevada.

Some patient reviews of "the lady doctor:

"This is the doctor that first shattered my faith in the medical field. First I am young and she had to break a life altering diagnosis. MS is not the easiest thing to be told the test came back, for sure, you have MS especially over the phone. Seriously!?! I was on my way to work... Ruined my expectations of any bedside manner. She also kept prescribing medicine I did not want, or were addictive. Because they have the highest kickbacks. She's all about the money... Avoid!!!!"

"I was a young girl when I went to see Goodman. After being made to wait a month in duress with serious medical symptoms, I was completely written off and treated very disrespectfully in the process. I even overheard Goodman's jealous receptionist making fun of me to Goodman through the door while I waited to be seen. Goodman didn't listen or help, and missed the diagnosis of a major neurological problem. I've since been treated by a COMPETENT Dr., which Margaret Goodman is not."

It was all a ridiculous Las Vegas setup. Wilder never even went to Russia to train for the fight. His handlers had no intention of letting him fight Povetkin. They well knew the limitations of their cash cow. They just trotted out Doc Margaret and her mafia* drug test crew to lend cover.

I agree with that completely and although I could boast that I called it - Povetkin by stoppage after being set a few problems in the early going by Price's height and reach - the truth is I didn't expect it to be so competitive.

Povetkin deserved his win but it could have gone the other way, and I never saw that coming.

The Povetkin I saw against Price yesterday would get the Stiverne 2 treatment from Wilder.

The guy's legs are shot and his reflexes are rapidly slowing. There's plenty heavyweights out there who would take care of Povetkin pronto.

But if you want to insist that the Russian is somehow the real heavyweight champion of the world, then I guess whoever fights him next (Joshua? Wilder?) is going to very lucky and quickly snare that imaginary belt.

As for the "reviews" of Dr. Goodman---my own doctor (a woman) has quite a few negative remarks on YELP. I find her to be the best doctor I've ever had.

Checking Goodman's reviews on Vitals.com, she also has a host of very positive comments.

You can't please everyone. And it's also quite possible that reviews are planted to promote someones negative agenda. Happens all the time.

Personally I think you have a bug up your arse concerning females.

Everything you said before the last sentence is fair enough, your opinions, and your observations about reviews, tho Doc Goodman's bad ones sound more legit than her good ones i think. No I don't have "a bug up my ass" about females. I have a bug up my ass about Las Vegas, and pretty much anyone who gets tit jobs in crooked las vegas like doc goodman, especially for crooked tv and crooked boxing in las vegas - that's corruption wrapped up in corruption wrapped up in more corruption! You see, i know what runs las vegas and i know what runs tv and i know ow what runs boxing!

Pip that was way out of line. x2x has a bug up his arse about Goodman, for sure but how does feeling contempt for one woman translate to feeling contempt for womankind?

For the record I think Putin is a psychpathic pudendum, but that doesn't mean I hate Russians.
