Parker and Povetkin won last night

If there was any integrity and honesty in boxing - which of course there isn't - the fraudulent Joshua decision would be overturned and Parker declared the winner because he was clearly fighting two people, Joshua and the hired hand in the referee suit who wouldn't let him fight on the inside, which, having much shorter reach, he had to do. Then the so called judges made it equally obvious, with their lopsided pre-filled out scorecards, that they too were on the payroll. This sort of thing is a constant now in the US and UK in almost all high profile fights, refs aiding and abetting the house fighter - Wilder-Ortiz, Mayweather-Kovalev, etc etc etc.

They made professional wrestling stop referring to themselves as a sport and use the term sports entertainment instead. They need to make boxing do that too, except really boxing is much darker than wrestling, which is obviously a silly carny show. Boxing should be made to call themselves "Organized Crime Sports Exhibition" or something like that.

What do you mean, I'm a joke? I make you laugh? You think I'm funny? How am I funny? I'm funny like a clown? I'm here to make you laugh?

Credit where it's due though...the guy spelled "you're" right. They usually don't. Anyway, the so called fight should be at the very least declared NC.

Parker didn't win and didn't even put enough effort for that. It looked like he came to collect a check and not get KO'ed.

The ref wouldn't let him fight on the inside. Even the pro-Joshua tv talking heads and Joshua fans admit that. He needed to fight on the inside and the ref wouldn't let him.

George Foreman was the only honest boxing announcer. He once said that boxers have to stop meekly and passively accepting the corruption in boxing - but they still are! Parker's corner should have vigorously protested the ref's blatant shenanigans, and if necessary refused to continue the fight.

Even Parker admitted he lost... His statement was "Joshua was better... But I'm 26 and I'll get a lot better... Back to the drawing board." Parker knew damned well he got beaten.. He was cut and puffy in the face... Joshua was clean as a bell...

Apparently you cannot count clean landed punches... Joshua landed twice as many with more impact.

No bombs landed like the Joshua-Klitschko Fight... They fought a lot harder with no interference from the referee... That made for a fight that was 10 X as good... The referee who worked last night should never work again.

But I'll tell you what... I've seen much worse... Lou Moret for instance -- and many more TERRIBLE referees.

The fact is, on the few occasions they were allowed to fight on the inside, Joshua started uncorking the uppercut and left hook.

If you want to convince yourself Parker would have won if he'd been allowed to fight on the inside, fine, but there's no evidence to support the idea. Joshua isn't afraid of inside fighting.

The ref definitely spoilt the fight, and was utterly clueless, allowing Joshua to box with the tape flapping around from his glove, which is an obvious hazard to the other fighter.

Why they appointed this buffoon is a mystery.

Those uppercuts that didn't land? Parker had more success with his bodyshots on the inside.

Believe what you wish. I don't think the result would have been any different with a better ref. In fact, I think if anything being allowed to work up close would have meant parker took a lot more punishment.

Parker landed some body shots in spells, but nothing to suggest he had the beating of Joshua.

OK, so that's your opinion of what might have happened. Fair enough. But don't you think Parker deserved a fair chance? Joshua's reach 82"; Parker's reach 78". Ref wouldn't let them fight on the inside. Nuff said?

I totally agree, the ref was awful. However, the idea that Parker would have clobbered him if the ref let them work inside doesn't really hold much water. It would have been a far better fight though.

No more a mystery than why they appointed Joe Cortez to ref the Mayweather-Hatton fight in honest Las Vegas. Both did what they were told to do by their bosses. I think both could have used some acting lessons so they could have been a bit more subtle, but, like i said before, they just don't care anymore. At least this italian ref didn't get his photo taken hugging and smiling broadly with Joshua after the fight, like Cortez did with Mayweather after that similar bit of work.

Wilder called his own time out over the glove!

Still think this is a physical mismatch in favor of Joshua. The sheer raw physical strength of Anthony Joshua is almost unreal and is near unprecedented for a heavyweight boxer. His sheer physical presence alone enables him to control fights and win rounds easily. It intimidates his opponents and forces them backwards in fear of his punching power, which causes them to give up the center of the ring and enables Joshua to easily control the center of the ring and to win rounds and subsequently fights from the center of the ring easily by either landing more punches or by stoppage by being able to break his opponents down from landing continuous effective punches.

Joshua's like a total wall that is almost impossible to back up and keep away. I think that'll spell nightmare for Sasha.

Luis - Joshua wasn't that overwhelmingly awesome compared to Parker last night. I don't even think he deserved the win, unless maybe he shares it jointly with the ref. Parker weighs only a couple of pounds more than Povetkin. You don't think Parker is that much better than Povetkin do you?

But styles make fights and Parker was backing away from Joshua for the most part but still lost nearly every round whilst surviving from suffering a knockout loss. Whilst Povetkin comes forward and attacks ultra-aggressively a lot of the times whilst leaving himself wide open. Which makes him far more susceptible to Joshua's enormously strong physical onslaught of punches which I don't Povetkin could really take. This is why I believe it's a horrible stylistic match up for Sasha. What do you think?

The ref was bad but it’s going too far to say it was rigged because we don’t have inside information.

The ref + tape magically comes loose again looked to help negate Joshua’s stamina issues and benefit Joshua’s game plan to box on outside using his reach advantage.

However Parker needed to work jab more , throw more punches and pressure Joshua for entire 12 rounds not just in small bursts.

Clearly he has stamina issues of his own and appears to carry a lot of body fat , maybe come in at 225 pounds and be faster and more active?

One thing that I know .. Parker is 26 years old and when he’s around 30 a lot of the heavyweights around now will be aged and retired even Wilder probably.

So up and coming Heavyweights will have to fight a highly experienced Parker who will be even better with 4 more years in the ring .

Ahhh NOOOO!!! .... Joshua will still be active when he's 36 or 37 bank on it... and he'll be better because Klitschko taught him... "As you making millions of dollars, invest in your career... better trainers... better sparring partners... better equipment... better food... better facilities... Everyything to make you a better fighter and harder to beat...

After you start losing you can't afford to do that... You take cheap fights, using cheap spar-mates in cheap gyms."

Or words to that effect..... All you have to do is Youtube Joshua's training regimens to see how serious he is. Wilder is also extremely serious about being good if he's not as smart... He's not giving up the game anytime soon.

From last Monday....
Parker arrived in Britain at the weekend and trainer Kevin Barry expressed his satisfaction at the selection of officials for the bout.

We’re very happy with the officials that have been appointed," said Barry .

"We've got three judges - one from New Zealand, one from the UK, one from the United States. We've got an Italian referee. We signed off on those officials [at the beginning of March]. We're very happy with what the various sanctioning bodies have appointed for us."

Don’t get me wrong, the refs performance was awful. But according to Kevin Barry, he and Parker agreed to the ref at the start of March after the sanctioning bodies appointed him. There’s been no “rigging” at all.

Parker took no major punishment when the fight was on the inside. If anything, his fluid bodyshots were best on the inside. What fight did you watch, seriously?

Joshua will be retired well before then . Joshua won’t beat Wilder if fights scared like he did against Parker.

Also it’s very difficult to keep all those belts once the mandatory fights start piling up . 5 belts 5 fights a year .. can’t see it happening.

And once he dumps a belt Parker will be there to snatch it up like a hungry dog to carry more bargaining power.

Wilder doesn't have Joshua's skills. Parker will make him look worse than Szpilka did. Parker is a lot better than Szpilka.
