which hws had better records after the same time as aj? im thinking we have to at least go back at least almost 30 years to lewis to find anyone at all. who else?

James J Jeffries had beaten Hank Griffin, Joe Goddard, Peter Jackson, Mexican Pete Everett, Tom Sharkey (x2), Bob Fitzsimmons, and James J Corbett.

good examples ...need to go bac many years to find many...they dont match em as they used to

It just shows how fighters progress at different rates.
My prediction on Joshua's career goes back to an old weather saying.

But I believe once he loses he'll lose it mentally. It's just a prediction without much merit at this time. But that's what I see in his future.

Lewis definitely had worse resume in 21 fights. Holyfield had excellent resume, but 18 of 21 his first wins were in the cruiserweight division. The last heavyweight with better resume in 21 fights was Muhammad Ali.

People love to hate success. In England especially, we like to build our stars up, & then jump up & down like a bunch of wet girls at a 1 Direction concert when they hit their first bit of adversity. It's ingrained in us as a nation. We've all been 'groomed' by the media to feed their cheap clickbait headlines.

i think its a bit of schagenfraude or whatever its called. when guys get hyped as much as aj , and you have guys like adam smith and eddie , ppl then want to see aj lose to somehow 'get back' at the ppl doing the hyping, it's not the success itself i think most ppl have problem with.

there are some ppl here who cant stand the slightest bit of hype, and as soon as someone starts getting to be a favoured public fighter and highly rated they go against them.

aj for me is just the type of fighter thats great for boxing. great boxer, elite ability, fun fights most of the time , destructive. not a guy who flicks a powerless jab and fights once every 3 years.

He's amazing, only Ameri... I mean idiots would call AJ protected.

it seems to be a big trend since the wilder rivalarly really exploded recently, somehow ajs been the protected one and wilder is actually the guy whose been out there going for the big ones and challenging himself far more

and i like wilder a lot too btw and dont think his records nearly as bad as ppl stay, but still his progress is absolutley snail like compared to ajs and aj has been fighting at the top level more consistently then any other hw now

I agree, my point being that posts saying when he loses and made with absolute certainty are just as daft as those saying people are unbeatable.

People say it’s 50/50 with Wilder, and whoever lands first, but Joshua is favourite because he’s shown he tends to land first and early. Wilder can take an age to get going. He’s also sturdier than Wilder, although both probably carry enough to take the other one out.

The rest? Joshua is a warm favourite against them all. It’ll be difficult but he could stay unbeaten throughout his pro career.

I'd favour peak Tyson Fury to outbox current version of AJ, but AJ continues to improve and we don't know if Fury can be as good as was 3 years ago.

I’d say the same, but I don’t think we’ll ever see that Fury again unfortunately. He’s at least 12-18 months from being ready to fight AJ and I can’t see Tyson having the hunger, mental stability nor the physical longevity to have a long career. In five years I reckon he’ll be a beached whale and look in his 50’s. Look at his genes!

I think it’d be a shame for them step up. Let them have a series of great fights amongst themselves as opposed to getting beat up by blokes who are just too big for them.

I reckon Joshua would knock any of them out.
