There’s a place for it. Lads who aren’t good enough for pros or not good enough for amateurs basically.
Shame there wasn’t one dominant organisation that emerged when it took off resulting in recognised champions. As it stands there are frigging loads of organisations giving out titles like a paedo gives out sweets. A lad near me won a British title when his opponent didn’t show .
Worryingly I’m seeing some lads doing well in their local “unlicensed” scene and turning pro on the back of it!

i hear about how tough the pro game is on the business side
why dont pros who are solid but dont really have backing do unliscned? is it the same hassle?

Nowhere near same hassle. I could get a fight semi pro next weekend no problem
Pay is peanuts in comparison, still often ticket sale based (so maybe £100 or £200 plus £5 per ticket the fighter sells)
Don’t think pros can hold BBBOC licence and box semi pro - although some do under different name

My pal, who won £10,000 the other week, knows nothing but unlicensed, but has sparred hundreds of rounds with pros. He’s just turned over. To put it into perspective, his friend came out with less than half £10k for getting stopped by Jamie Cox the night after he barely broke sweat to win the cash.

When people say that they know unlicensed fighters her spar pros, what standard pros are we talking about because in all honesty I've seen a few pros recently who would not be able to get out of their region in the novices let alone even entering them in the elites

Thats fair enough then mate. I see you said that he has just turned over so he obviously thinks he's doing enough in the sparring to give it a go in the pro game and I wish him all the best. If you go through social media though mate you see boys putting up pictures saying got some rounds in with this pro today and held me own. When in reality the pro would get bashed up by most 20-30 bout amateurs.

There isn’t a lot of difference between most 20-30 bout ams and most pros. The pros are more disillusioned, that’s about it.

My mate has just started fighting in this unlicensed H46Pro league
Seems like a good set up,to be able to compete in it you have to have had at least 3 Amateur bouts,looks very well run

If there's an audience for it then it has it's place. Just like white collar boxing.
Even match ups with two guys going for it can be more entertaining than well schooled boxers fencing.

We have unlicensed boxers so turning over up here in Scotland. Sam kynoch has his own white colar promotions knows as SK boxing and is also the main man for MTK. Mark Kerr was a white collar boxer and two kickboxer from Dundee who were white colar Sean Mckiddie and Dean Sutherland just turned over this week. It's all becoming confusing. When my brother turned over he had to have amateur experience I don't think that is a requirement now.

That is the way I remember it Jamie. A BBBOC official would watch a sparring session to assess whether someone with limited amateur experience should get a pro licence.

Someone said it has changed due to insurance restrictions

Assuming it was a prizefighter type affair he got 10k for? That’s the largest semi pro purse I’ve ever seen.
The lads I’m talking about are poor mate, really poor. There’s always exceptions to the rule. Scotch lad Kerr went semi pro to pro . He was decent in unlicensed scene
