After demolishing Fernando Vargas in March, 14-0 prospect Ryan Garcia will take another step up against former world tite contender Jayson Velez on Cinco de Mayo weekend:

Unbeaten Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (14-0, 13 KOs) headlines an ESPN2-televised Golden Boy Boxing on May 4 at StubHub Center in Carson, California. Hot prospect Garcia faces seasoned Puerto Rican contender Jayson “La Maravilla” Velez (26-4-1, 18 KOs) in a 10-round super featherweight. Velez is coming off a stoppage win over former world champ “Juanma” Lopez.

Seems like Garcia has adopted some of De La Hoya's ring mannerisms & prefight mannerisms, at least in the Vargas fight shown above.

i see a lot of ppl saying this guy has an awful personality and is arrogant to the max, has anyone listened to interviews or followed him on social media or anything, i havent myself so i dont know

He is full of himself and his post-fight interview for the Vargas fight did show a grating personality, but he is very talented. I try not to let my view of an athlete as a person affect my assessment of his ability in the sport. As long as someone doesnt become a Tyson, Broner or Edwin Valero I can pretty much ignore their quirks.
