Looks like Madison Square Garden believes in Las Vegas. They recently announced plans to break ground later this year on a technologically revolutionary new arena on the Strip that holds 18-20,000 people called MSG Sphere Arena because of its spherical shape:

MSG officials unveiled their design on Thursday for the MSG Sphere Arena, which they describe as a “revolutionary” new live entertainment venue that will plop a massive spherical arena onto the Vegas Strip in 2020.
The project was unveiled by MSG Co. Executive Chairman and CEO James Dolan at a presentation in New York, and relayed during a parallel session in Los Angeles conducted by Dolan’s friend and business partner, music industry mogul Irving Azoff.
“This venue will pioneer the next generation of immersive experiences and revolutionize the way artists and their audiences connect,” Azoff told an audience at the Pollstar Live! concert industry conference at the InterContinental Hotel downtown.
“It takes the definition of ‘interactive’ to new heights,” Azoff said. “It will be equipped with game-changing technologies that push the very limits of connectivity for the ultimate audio-visual experience for concerts, sports events and trades shows, creating interaction like nowhere else.”
The arena will offer Internet access at each seat and will employ a new concept in live audio delivery called “beamforming audio,” which aims sound directly at each seat, rather than traditional methods that use massive speaker arrays that amplify sound.
“This Las Vegas venue will be the model for the next millennium,” Azoff said. “It will become a premiere destination for top entertainment.”
MSG is slated to break ground later this year on the arena, which will be built on a lot near the Venetian and the Wynn hotel and casinos.
The arena will not house any pro sports teams, but is expected to host boxing or other competitive fights periodically. The primary focus will be concerts and live entertainment, but it also is designed to accommodate conventions.
