Illegal boxing streams - the untalked about taboo subject

With the prevalence of boxing streams out there for every fight, why on earth have Sky, BN, BT etc not offered a streaming service for boxing?
Every single PPV gets streamed and I would say close to 100% of us have availed of streams in the past.
It seems like they are losing quite a lot of money on it. I know myself that I would pay for a streaming service. If the stream was official and coming from sky/bn etc, then I'd rather pay for that than watch illegal streams.
Those illegal streaming sites are riddled with malware but the reward of watching a big fight for free sometimes outweighs the risk for most.
It just seems like a place where the broadcasters could make some more money but perhaps I am missing something here?

there is a bit of a grey area....... saying for instance a fight is shown on allegedly but is being shown in other european countries. so long as you watch a stream that is not from allegedly then its NOT illegal.
classic case is premiership football......i often stream it in HD with american commentary, or other language (via canal + etc).
Surely then its not illegal to stream it in UK?

Nah.
People that steal will always steal. Disregarding technicalities (broadcast is illegal but watching isn’t etc)
Sky and BN PPVs can be bought and watched online, dunno about BT etc as I don’t have it.

I will put my hands up and say ive watched streams of sports, golf and boxing only! To be honest streams have become unreliable that there is nothing worse than a decent fight and you are getting buffering issues.
Mobdro is ok for streams but on a tv the quality is poor, sure on a 4 inch phone screen ok but who wants to view sport on a 4 inch screen?
The last 2 ppv's ive bought simply because I want to watch the live event in HD.
I personally think the likes of Kodi are fading, but there will be new techniques in watching live sport but personally I cant be bothered as I dont tend to watch much these days.
Ive searched for live streams recently but you seem to have to download software to create pin numbers or the stream has so many ads on the screen. Ive had virus warnings so i tend to not search websites now for streams for that purpose. I have 1 site i use and that it. But, if its a decent event Ill buy these days.
for the sake of £20 id rather watch in HD than get a virus thats going to cause me all sorts of havoc.

If I was a boxing promoter or broadcaster
![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)
, I would have a blanket legal claim to send out to every streamer and viewer. Have a dedicated team to catch the IP address and send out an instant fine or mass court appearance. Charge the people who stream per person who views it, and charge those who viewed it.
Make the fine the cost of the PPV, plus inflated expenses. Thus earning more than if they had watched it legally. It only takes some kids parents having to pay £3500 because their dumbass child streamed a fight to make it clear it will not be tolerated.
Then I would publish how many people were caught and fined.

that sounds a bit messy to ip track every viewer, find the identity, and somehow legally charge every viewer across the world. and like how long do they need to watch to be charged.

so if a viewer is streaming in the UK but has his VPN set to Delhi how does one get fined over there?

Its still illegal to stream if I assume. The canal customer would be breaching the rules of his contract. I assume the end user in the UK would be also breaking the law by watching the illegal stream.
It's like if I broke the law by stealing a loaf of bread and you ate a slice of it knowing that it was a stolen loaf of bread. You're still at fault

you cant get a fine for doing something ethically wrong. If there is something on the internet and you view it how can one get fined? Its a grey area, this is why no end user as far as im aware has been fined. Someone in Scarborough did get a fine for watching a fight on his tv which he had paid for but used his phone to live stream it to his mates on FB. He got fined but his mates didnt.

no its not impossible. there are terms and conditions to any vpn, which will state that they can give your real IP address to law enforcement people. but I cannot see a VPN service giving your info to a boxing promotor

I watch streams as much as the next boxing fan. But i would be surprised if it was completely legal. Using the loaf of bread example, those mates would get done

Using tor and proxies would definitely be untraceable unless law enforcement had compromised the tor network to a high degree which is highly unlikely. U can switch your IP address at the click of a button and everything gets routed to different countries anyway. Its impossible to trace.

its illegal to stream. The only person at fault is the streamer. No one has ever been fined as far as im aware for switching on his internet 'accidentally ' finding a stream and viewing it. Its ethically wrong but not illegal

Its fights like this that lose money due to streaming. I aint paying a penny for it I can assure you. This is why they should have an official stream. I actually might possibly pay for it then. The world has changed now, the promotors and broadcasters have to adapt. I wouldn't chance wilder Joshua on a stream though. I'd be paying for that one. Same with canelo GGG. May weather PAC. Those fights I would 100% buy the official stream from sky/bn as I'm assuming many would.

I can't get Sky Box Office on BT but I wouldn't be paying for it anyway.
