Well he clearly can't take a punch too well.

Stepped up twice, knocked out early twice. Not sure what else there is to be said.

I don't think so, but it's been a while so maybe. I was probably saying I'd like to see how he fared against some guys just below that level...this is just below that level, and we saw how he fared so...

Didn't you say you thought that he should fight Murray?

Might have. I honestly don't remember. He'd probably go further at least in rounds against Murray as Murray's never been a big hitter, but given his performances and how easily he went down I'd say even Murray could stop him after what we've seen here today.

Going back to the Sai fight you always knew his temprement was a problem and even after the comeback he struggled against the fella Rios in another foul filled scrap which showed he hadn't matured after his time out but I always thought he'd be durable, you can have an iron chin but still get creased to the body so the Groves KO hadn't changed my mind but that KO reminded me of Thompson/Price 1
Although as avid boxing fans we've seen they short soft looking glancing hooks turn guys legs to jelly plenty of times

I’m Jamie’s biggest fan but I don’t know where he goes from here. I think Eddie might ditch him now he’s lost two in a row. Maybe rebuild against some of these euro bums. Everyone says he can’t make MW but he’s too light for SMW.
I thought he won round 1 but was it a lucky punch? I don’t know...

Ryder won the first round easily.
Far too good for Cox.

Yes, a mismatch really.

Some people were claiming he was world class after the Groves fight but it was all wishful thinking really.
British level at middleweight, not big enough to hang with the best in Britain at super middleweight.

Never understood the faith people had in him made Euro level fights ugly and didn’t seem to have power above a low domestic level really lucky to get into the WB super series

He has never proven himself domestically at welter, let alone any higher weights.

No revision. He's not that good.

Buzzing to see him get toppled. I don't like judging boxers too much, but he has the heart of a pea and he's a thug that can't box. Hope to see Ryder get a big fight in the next few months. I think Degale would be a good one for a Saturday fight night. If not he's got a decent chance against Zurdo Ramirez in my opinion.

Genuine question: When was the last time a fighter built up such a reputation as Cox had pre-Groves without a single impressive performance in the ring against half decent opposition?
Said before the Groves fight that his rep was solely based on rumours and that's how its turned out. When someone has been a pro for so long and hasn't been given the proper fights through the levels and instead sticks to knocking over journeymen for years, there's probably a reason.
Groves and Ryder exposed the myth imo. Might be a good gym fighter but that doesn't warrant the hype he had. Seems to be a flat track bully who has struggled with any adversity. He was up like a shot the second after the 10 count finished against Groves but I gave him a pass as the effects of body punches are harder to judge. But after tonight's stoppage as well you have to wonder if he just didn't fancy it on both occasions.

Anyone who texts his bird hundreds of times in an hour is dodgy.

It was hot yesterday. I wondered why his trainer felt the need to get in the ring with a woolly hat on.

I never really saw what a lot of other people saw in Cox, but I will refrain from having a dig.
I'm made up for Ryder though, a good honest pro who will hopefully get another big fight and big payday off the back of last night.
It wasn't a lucky punch, allowing Cox to bull forward and catching him with hooks and uppercuts on the way in was obviously the game plan and it worked a treat.
Cox can rebuild and look towards the British title, but I can't see him getting close to a world title shot any time soon (possibly ever).

Good win for Ryder thought he buzzed Cox right on the bell at the end of the first round and finished the job well. Be interesting to see if matchroom stick by cox
