Who's the better fighter right now, based on their most recent performance?

There's a massive difference between Lenroy Thomas and Deontay Wilder and Lenroy Thomas.

Too hard to guage Joyce's level yet. Ortiz acquitted himself very well, against one of the top 2 heavyweights, despite getting stopped. You have to say Ortiz.

Jesus Christ, slow down.

He looked marvelous today, but there is a WORLD of difference between Lenroy Thomas and Luis Ortiz

Luis Ortiz stops Joe Joyce.

For the moment Ortiz. Having Joyce beating some journeymen in that fashion doesn't mean, that he will win a solid boxer in likes of Ortiz. Joyce was opened for different stuff, while his careless flurries won't trouble somebody classy.

Impressive win. People also forget that Ortiz looked like crap against David Allen who is on a similar level to Thomas. By the way, Usyk straight schooled Joyce in WBS. Usyk is an effing monster against big guys, and he'll clean out the HW division.

Joyce being brought along quickly but sensibly.

Looks likely he’ll fight the winner of Sexton v Hughie Fury next.

You call this:

Beïng schooled? Am I really the only one who thinks Joe Joyce should have won that fight?
your blind if you think joyce won that, he clearly lost every round, the fight was in the uk too, why the f@ck would all the judges have it 5 rounds to 0 for usyk if joyce actually deserved it?

that said i do think joyce improved from that point, he only started at 22 and benefitted from more experience

I can't take your post seriously. Watching that is killing me that Usyk hasn't moved up to HW. No one will touch him. He's effing brilliant against big guys.

The poll results are surprising. I guess that one or two people voted a certain option for trolling purposes, whilst certain individuals used their multiple accounts to purposely go against the grain and support their favourite fighter.

Hahahahaha, and David Haye is a better boxer then Tony Bellew right? Father time is doing his work, the 31 year old Olympic silver medal winner (who should have won gold) is simply better then the 40 year old. There just aren't that many people fan of him yet and neither would many intelligent people like to waste time arguing with guys like you.
So in other words, if people don't agree with you, you feel you have to attack the arguer instead of their argument?

Is that the sort of conduct of an "intellectual" person?

Do you realise that it's YOU who doesn't agree with at least 6 persons right now and it's you who's making excuses that make no sense whatsoever? I wrote clear arguments, you wrote excuses in the line of, I disagree with the poll results, there must be people trolling and making multiple accounts.
Six votes does not necessarily equate to six people.

Joyce's performance last night solidified my belief that the Brit would suffer a terrible KO defeat if he fought Luis Ortiz tomorrow.

Those that feel that Joe could beat the Cuban right now are delusional.

Joyce is brilliant but he shouldn’t mix it with the likes of Ortiz now. He needs rounds and experience first

Report me if you feel that my opinion is utterly preposterous, but you'd surely find that the BoxRec forum moderator has already agreed with my stance.

If Joe Joyce fought Luis Ortiz tomorrow, he'd get disposed of rather quickly.

And that's the bottom line, because I said so!

I would certainly hope so.

Joyce is not your typical four fight novice, he is a very seasoned top flight amateur, and it's not inconceivable that he would have too much for Ortiz at this stage of his career. If iwe accept his official age as accurate, he's still forty next year whereas Joe is physically at his peak.

It's a fair question by the OP, but i have to admit that I find my above thoughts somewhat distasteful and disrespectful to Luis Ortiz, so on the basis of what they've done, rather than what they might do, I'm going to answer Luis Ortiz.

In the fight of his life, Ortiz pretty much had nothing left after 6 rounds of mediocre paced fighting. He wasted the peak of his career and stick a fork in him now, see if he's done...

He can improve a lot, but he's not beating Usyk, ever. Sad truth. Wilder and Joshua also need to stop playing and get their schooling. Usyk at HW will be lethal.

Joyce doesn't impress me that much. He's cumbersome and slow. Dubois is the far better prospect in the pros for me.

If Joyce's handlers set up this fight, It'd be negligence. Joyce has no chance against Ortiz currently.

Mike Tyson is a very long time retired and is not beating any current heavyweight worthy of that description even if the thought of doing so even crossed his mind.

Yes I did think Haye was a victim of his injury and would in all probability have too much for Bellew were it not for that injury. I was wrong wasn't I?

I'm still not sure why you said that and what your point was.

Nah, he'd beat Ortiz. Joyce is a well-groomed amateur, and Ortiz has looked sub-par. As I said, watch the Ortiz/Allen fight. Allen is similar level to the guy Joyce just bombed out. Ortiz has looked horrific since his win over Jennings. He's been overrated for a while now.
