JOHNSON/JONES BETTING

glencoffe johnson is 100/1 for EVERY round with blue square to stop jones. what the hell is the reasoning behind this? Jones has come off a devastating stoppage loss, and they put EVERY round at 100/1??!!
do they even know what they're doing?
hell, i'm not having a bet on that, but still, 100/1 for EVERY ROUND?
Someone else said that roy jones's legs have gone. i agree. I think he will get stopped tonight, just don't know what round he's going down in.
let's say I put £10 each on rounds 4, 5, 6, and 7. If you were a bookies, would you worry about this? I certainly would.
we'll have to see.

yeah, they are blue square odds though, they are a betting exchange. No normal bookie would offer such generous odds.
Interesting one will be to see if Jones stops Johnson or not...i think he will do, late on.

No, bluesquare are a regular bookmaker. You're thinking of betfair - they're the exchange.

well- in the end I put 50p on each round 7 through ten and obviously it returned £50 (!!!!)
I also won £100 by betting on johnson.
A very satisfying win. I just regret not putting more on the specific round.

Jesus. Amazing odds against a fighter who can fight.

fornicate wish I had read this thread before I went out at the weekend, I would definetly had a punt at least a quid on each round and a bet on Johnson to win.
I really am going to have to start betting on my hunches, I would be well ahead if i did. Although i predicted Jones to win, I knew Johnson had a shot and that is enough.
I'm going to have a flutter on williamson to beat Wlad I think, he's looking vulnerable.

these kind of fights are golden for knowledgeable punters, you have to take advantage. I should have emptied my account on johnson, i was so confident that jones was shot and he wouldn't be able to live with a mauling, pressure fighter in johnson.
the question is, when will there next be a fight in which a shot great fighter is made an unjustifiably huge favourite against a 6/1 opponent. I cashed in on tyson/williams, jones/tarver II and now jones/johnson this way.
it's the easiest way to make money. the bookies really don't have a scooby doo when it comes to how shot a fighter is. they just assume the fighter will magically return to their best.

You're totally right, myself and David Payne who come on here, used to help advise a guy who was the oddsmaker for boxing for William hill, and there are people a lot more knowledgable than either of us.
in my prediction on Max, I said that if Jones was struggling with the weight or struggling to pull the trigger (which it seems he was, the latter at least), then Johnson had a good chance.
Clinton woods also said that of the two, Johnson hit far harder punch for punch, which surprised me.
I didn't know the odds were so long, otherwise I would definetly have had a small punt on each round, and about 20 quid on Johnson to win outright.
I am going to have a bet on Williamson to beat Wlad, I think Wlad is mentally gone and that he will succumb again.

i don't know about that james to be honest. davarryl williamson is hardly mr reliable either in the chin department. I see him getting blown out as quick as mesi did it. if wiliamson couldn't handle mesi's shots, think what a GENUINE puncher like wlad will do. davarryl wil probably be scared shitless when he enters that ring.

Great call on the Jones fight
No way Wlad loses this weekend - Williamson has been picked with good reason: he's made of glass.
