Personally I wish he wasn't doing this. In the Bowe-Golota legendary nights documentary that HBO did they showed video/audio evidence of Bowe's brain damage... in 1996.

I'm not a fan of the Bowe comeback either, but i would of thought he'd try and give himself the best possible chance and come into the fight in some sort of shape. His conditioning looks awful in that photo.

I agree, he looks in bad shape there. He is obviously using my training methods of sitting on the internet and eating KFC

Sounds like a good training method, though does it work if you exchange the KFC for pizza, and throw in a six pack of beer as well?

I always hate to see ex champions when they make their comeback also wearing their old shorts. It is as if they are trying to turn back the time a relive past glories - he looks in horrible condition and didn't actually weigh publically.

On the undercard was another ex heavyweight champion who has done bird - Oliver McCall. He won is similar fashion against a similar opponent. However, he looked impressive vs Akinwande a few years ago so maybe his comeback won't be such a bad idea.

They played interview footage of him from after the first Holyfield fight and then after the second Golota fight back to back. Sometimes a fighter slurs a bit straight after the fight but is okay later, however at another point in the documentary they tell about Bowe's stint in the Marines, and when he speaks at the press conference he has that nasally muffled sound common with brain injury.

Jesus, Bowe looks fornicating awful, he must be 300 lbs. I hope his comeback doesn't last long. Jones has been blasted out in quick succession in two fights, and he's hardly taken any punishment prior to that in his career, I shudder to think what will happen to Bowe if he takes a pounding in a few contests.

It's not looking too good is it. Hopefully McCall was in better shape.

No idea, but it wouldn't be surprising if he is skint. His wife took the kids, so probably took most of his money too.

Theres no way Bowe should be allowed in the ring again... I've heard that he didn't even do any sparring before this 'fight'...... and his conditioning is shocking! Larry Holmes was in better shape at 52...... very sad.
How can the people involved in this fight sleep at night! Riddick is a tragedy ready to happen.

Bowe should be retired and kicking it in the caribbean right now not beating up a guy who looks like he should be propping up a pub bar. He was being beaten up by Golota before the Pole went mad and decided to give him a free vesectomy, he should have learned his lesson and could end up getting hurt. He is still younger than Lewis and Tyson i am told, but he better get his arse into shape if he is to avoid permanent injury, can't he find himself a hobby? That picture is a *tad* misleading in terms of false perspective, because Rhode is listed as being 6'2", just 3" shorter than Bowe.

Speaking of former HW greats who should've hung 'em up long ago, I see Evander Holyfield is scheduled to fight Larry "The Legend" donald on 13. November at Madison Square Garden on the Byrd/McCline undercard. What the f*** is the point of that?

I'd probably tip Donald based on Holyfield last performance, if Holyfield gets a win here it shows futher evidence that James Toney's heavyweight title quest is legitimate and could happen.

...Except that the latest word there is that Toney hurt his left arm in last week's fight vs. booker and will out for 6 months...not as serious as the Achilles injury, but at his age 6 months is a long time, especially considering that Booker was supposed to be a comeback and quickly lead to a bigger fight. Now he needs another comeback, and by then he'll be 37...

That is "Big G" Gabe Brown, this guy is huge, he has limited skill, but has decent stamina for his size.
