I can't understand how this man is continually used to MC fights when he obviously doesn't have a clue how to read off a sheet of paper.
he is a disgrace. There must be people queueing up for his job, people who can read, get important details right, as well as having some charisma, timing, and ability to fire up the crowd.
why don't they use the guy who used to mc the early audley fights?

I have been moaning about this guy for ages now, glad everyone has noticed how inept he is. He has to check his paper after every word and still gets it wrong...they should get that guy in who advertises for work in the back of Boxing News

"Bernard...will travel" :) Hey, why not? Then again, some of the most intriguing contests on the bill are Mike wrestling with his pieces of paper.
The thing is, it's almost certainly cheaper for promoters as Mike brings and erects the ring with him. No joke.

Of course, I forgot that he brings his own ring with him, I guess he comes as part of the deal, but he seems to be getting worse of late.
His display on that bill was truly awful, he couldn't even remember Howard Eastman's name, nor what titles he had. There were so many pauses in his delivery it was embarrasing.
It does make quite a big difference to a bill I think if the MC is able to gee the crowd up and if the MC is bad it makes the bill look unprofessional.

You wonder how much Goodhall really enjoys the game if he can't remember the most basic statistics week after week.
His son Simon is a very competent MC himself, unfortunately he has about as interesting a voice as David Gower.

Goodhall does make the odd mistake like announcing the weights wrong.
But cut him some slack, after all how many mc's deliver the ring and pa system to the venue, set it up alone, have the canvas, turnbuckles and toblerones printed, change into a penguin suit, do the announcing, change again, dismantle the ring, load it on a lorry and take it home. All for a very reasonable price.
Give the guy a break, he is a one off.

I don't doubt that he's a hard working feller, it's just that when it comes to the announcements he has been making hard work of it on a few shows I've been to. Maybe it's the fact that he has to do all of those other things which is causing it.

There was a young stand in for Mike on the "War of the Worlds PPV". I can't remember which fight he did (one of the two title fights and no it wasn't Simon Goodhall) he was a damn good MC, what happend to him?
