So many belts and titles???

A few questions:
What exactly is a WORLD SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE? Gervonta Davis has it but he’s not listed as a super featherweight title holder on here.
What’s the difference between a title and a belt if there is one... Forgive me if these questions seem lame but I am fairly new to boxing and this website.

I'm not new to boxing, and I can't keep up with the WBA shenanigans. I had no idea Davis was the "super" champion. Machado won that belt off of Corrales, so I'd easily say Machado is the real champion. Somehow, Machado is just the "regular" champion. It's absolutely stupid and insane.
By the way, shouldn't they have promoted Machado to the "super" champion and had Davis fight for the "regular" champion if they wanted to do that? Did Davis even have a title to even be considered a "super" champion? He got stripped after missing weight.

The guy that's generally considered to be #1 is The Champion. Everyone else is a contender with a meaningless belt. That's the difference.

No. Someone can be #1 without having fought the best titlists. Perfect example is FW. Who is The Champion, GRJ, Santa Cruz, Valdez, and Selby?

I'd consider Santa Cruz the best of that bunch, but yeah there's no consensus #1 at that weight.

The WBA is a joke. That's the simplest answer to your question. They will often have 3 Champions per weight class. A Super Champion, A Regular Champion, An Interim Champion.
Just look at who's ranked in the Top 5 on most credible rankings. That's who's who in the sport. Who has what belt is basically irrelevant. It means you're in line for a big fight because you have a belt I suppose, but it doesn't automatically mean you're one of the top fighters.
Hell I've seen guys be a World Titleholder of some sort WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO who wouldn't even crack the Top 10 of a respectable ranking, but somehow inexplicably is a "World Champion"
So yeah...you just gotta learn to take all that sh*t with a grain of salt.
