Plans are in the works for the “Superfly 3” card, promoter Tom Loeffler told ESPN. The card is penciled in for Sept. 8 (HBO) at a Southern California site to be determined. The probable main event would pit 115-pound world titleholder Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (44-4-1, 39 KOs), 31, of Thailand, against Juan Francisco Estrada (36-3, 25 KOs), 28, of Mexico, in a rematch of the fantastic battle they waged in the main event of “Superfly 2” on Feb. 24 at The Forum in Inglewood, California, where Sor Rungvisai won by hard-fought majority decision.

With the mental issues thing, I'm wondering if Sor Rungvisai's prime is gone. I heavily favor Estrada now. By the way, I hope none of the degenerates that don't follow the lower weights post on here. They became laughing stocks after Arroyo and Sor Rungvisai fights.

He broke up with his girlfriend recently, and then she was seen fooling around with a group of other men. The scandal apparently left him devastated and his promoter said he wasn't going to be fighting soon.

So chances are the main event isn't happening. Either way, what other fighters would you like to see? I would really appreciate a change of scenario from the same 4 fighters fighting each other over and over again! (Srisaket, Gonzalez, Cuadras, Estrada). Its getting repetitive, literally.

Srisaket should fight Koki Eto or Rex Tso next. If he's out, then perhaps Estrada or someone else should fight them. I'd also like to see Muhammad Waseem on the card too. He's fighting for the IBF Flyweight belt on the Pac-Matthysse card, and win or lose I'd like to see him again on Superfly 3.

I think initially, he wanted the Estrada fight himself earlier than September. WBC said he could have a voluntary, but he preferred to go straight into a rematch. Who knows what state he's in. September is still a still a while away.

Estrada is still the best fighter in the division (with Inoue moving up). Best should fight the best. By the way, Sor Rungvisai was NEVER an outlier. Anyone who followed the lower weights knew he was a dangerous fight for Chocolatito.

I've driven the 405 in the LAX (near the Forum) area many times on a Saturday night. It's like stop and go rush hour

I only said that it might take 15-20 minutes IF there was no traffic. But I know better.

But traffic or not Carson isn't all that far from Inglewood.

I've seen the Sat night 405 as well. It's about 15 miles...but you could probably make it just as quick with a good bicycle on Crenshaw or Hawthorne Blvd if you had the traffic lights in your favor!!

You do know boxing still goes on outside of the mainstream media spotlight? Sor Rungvisai didn't fall into obscurity after losing to little-known Cuadras. He wouldn't have if he had lost to Gonzalez in their first fight either.

Why do you think Golovkin/Canelo are rematching, Barrera/Morales, Pacquiao/Marquez, Mayweather/Castillo, and I could go on. That's the nature of boxing when two elite p4p talents meet up in the ring. This isn't something I should be explaining by the way.

Sor Rungvisai-Estrada II, SuperFly 3 Eyed For September 8, HBO

After two highly acclaimed editions of 'SuperFly', which features the sports little big men, a third chapter of this series is being penciled in for the late summer.

Tom Loeffler, who staged and organized the first two 'SuperFly' fight cards told BS.com - "The shows coming together, we're looking at September 8th as the date from HBO. Just confirming all the match-ups on the show. It should be a triple-header, again. This has been one of the most successful series on TV and it will be one of the most anticipated cards coming up for the year."

The first two were held at the StubHub Center and then the Forum in the Los Angeles-area, and as they say: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

"It's had a great response here in the Southern California area so we'll keep it here in Los Angeles," said Loeffler, who is working to put together the rematch between WBC 115-pound titlist, Sor Rungvisai and Juan Francisco Estrada, who battled over twelve rounds on February 24th at the Forum, with Sor Rungvisai retaining his title via majority decision.

"That's a fight everyone wants to see, it was one of the top fights of the year, one of the leading contenders for 'Fight of the Year' and it's non-stop action everyone wants to see both these guys back in the ring," stated Loeffler.

Originally the rematch was eyed for August, but manager of Sor Rungvisai recently revealed that his boxer would not be ready by August due to personal issues connected with a recent breakup with his longterm girlfriend.

Boxing goes on, but title shots don't. Unless you're from the US/Mexico/UK, you don't get the luxury of rematches and repeated cracks at the title.

Its not a strawman. Its a viable opinion, we just saw those two fight. Now I want to see someone else fight. Then it can go back to Estrada afterwards, since he's so great.

I want to see other contenders get a shot, and possibly be the next Srisaket. Not watch the same 4 people fighting over and over like a broken record.

This seems like the weakest of the Superfly cards by a wide margin. No Rungvisai, no Chocolatito, no Inoue, no Yafai, no Ancajas. Not even Cuadras.

i agree, i still dont mind the card, and i like the ioka-arroyo fight, but defo the weakest of the 3

Chocolatito should have been on the card. He doesn’t need to be on ppv undercard.

Would be good to see how many would have tuned in to watch him on regular HBO.

Yea I don't understand why they didn't do Estrada vs. Neites. Instead we get each guy against a much weaker opponent.

I'd still like to see Estrada/Gonzo II as well, but at this point it may never happen.

No longer subscribe to HBO, and the card was rather weak. Only real fight on paper was Ioka/Arroyo.

Only thing surprising is that Nietes got a draw. Need to watch that one. Never heard of his opponent, but the damn Filipinos seem to be experts at getting the odd high-caliber upset then getting beaten after.
