Anyone Else Disappointed in Last Night's Fights?

I had blue balls and was in need of a cold shower after those two fights last night. I looked so forward to both of them not realizing that JoJo Diaz Jr and Badou Jack were competing for the most rounds given away. I've never seen so many rounds just handed away by the challenger to the champions in title fights.

JoJo appeared to be in shape and was very effective when throwing punches but chose to stand in guard not throwing for most of the fight. I prefer fighters that go out on their shield when fights get out of reach as no one gets extra points from me for making it through 12 rounds.

Jack and his team think that they can give away the first 4 rounds to the champion, in the champion's country, as a strategy. Jack looked scared, out of shape and nothing like the Jack that was so entertaining the last 4 or 5 times out. Maybe too many wars. His speech also appeared to be slurred prior to the fight so I'd be concerned about Jack if I were anyone close to him. Jack actually had to try hard to find a way to win this fight last night. Adonis will lose his next fight whomever it is.

The fights were disappointing to me and it was due to poor strategies designed around the art of not throwing any punches. What? YUP. Great Strategy. It's like the Patriots goal on game day to not score TD's or Celtics to not score as many baskets each quarter and wait for the other team to get tired because they are older.

I didn’t see the Diaz fight, but I enjoyed the Jack-Stevenson fight.

Diaz fight was miles better. Jack/Stevenson was more of a wrestling match, posing match, and low-blow match . Didn't start getting interesting until the end when they were both in danger of getting stopped, Stevenson mainly due to fatigue.

Jack's style is not suited for LHW. He needs to get on the inside and outwork his opponent, but he's facing a lot of huge punchers while being a fragile fighter. Jack was terrified the first few rounds. Stevenson did as he pleased.

I kept falling asleep. I rarely fall asleep with a fight on. Stevenson/Jack was a total bore. Diaz Russell was the best fight of the evening. Decent fight; controlled by Russell throughout, with flashes of good action between the two.

I'm with Oogiebe. I raced home from the airport because I was unable to tape via DVR for some reason, f'ng Comcast.

I thought that Jack/AD was impossible to disappoint but it was not even close to what i had expected for entertainment.

They don't really air too much Japanese title fights overseas, which is the problem. When they put on title fights, its really something to watch. The maincards are usually stacked.
