That is sad. A good British boxing character. And developed quite a few top class boxers. A successful life.

Shit - that's terrible. I was only reading about Dean Francis last month and he seemed to be winning (or holding his own) in his battle.... going away for treatment.... He was looking very well.
Just shocked....
Also shocking about Brendan. I appreciated he wasn't in the greatest of health recently - but it is still a shocker - one of the giants of British boxing.

Awful news that. I don’t know much about Dean Francis, but I remember him being a top fighter. RIP Dean.
As for Brendan, well he was a legend. RIP Brendan.

Horrible news. I remember Brendan as a pro and he learned all the tricks and knew how to pass them on. He made Bomber a star and he made Johnny Nelson a star (when everyone else would have dropped Nelson). I met him a few times and liked him a lot. Dean Francis had the ability to become the new John Conteh until his shoulder went. He is survived by his dad, Trevor, a former good pro. Trevor must be in bits.
