1. Which boxing matchup's did you view as being very hyped up. You had high expectations for these fights.

But, after these fights, they didn't live up to your expectations. You were disappointed.

Which boxing matchup's were these?

2. Which boxing fights were you not that hyped up about. You had low expectations for these fights.

But, after these fights, they FAR exceeded your expectations. You were impressed.

FMM vs Pac and FMM vs Canelo, expected much more than they both ended up being.

Tyson vs Bruno 2, Bruno was champ, 20lb heavier than the first fight and Tyson had been beaten and in jail. I was expecting a good fight but Bruno was very poor. Really disappointed in him that night.

Well as a Gatti fan I was happy to see him get an easy win against Leonard Dorin, but I went into that fight expecting another Gatti-Ward type war so it was a bit of a letdown in that regard, but overall I was happy that Gatti came out on top.

Fights that exceeded expectations?

Tim Bradley vs Ruslan Provodnikov definitely. I expected Tim to win that easy going in, but being a big Provo fan I was thrilled that we wound up getting the fight we did. Ditto with Maidana vs Mayweather. I loved Chino, but didn't think he stood much of a chance, when he wound up giving Floyd one of his hardest fights I loved it.

Yes both crackers. Also Maidana vs Broner, just loved seeing the undefeated gobby Broner getting bashed up.

Another one that was a bit of a disappointment was Wilder vs Bermane Stiverne (the first time) because with their records going in I expected FOR SURE we'd get a KO one way or the other, but it turned out to be a fairly cautious boxing match with not a lot of dramatic moments.

Wlad v Haye had all the hype, it had the belts and also had the potential to be explosive.
I was hugely looking forward to it and thought Haye had the speed, power and chutzpah to unhinge Wlad.

But ultimately Wlad did another dull but hugely effective shut-down job and Haye looked short of ideas and did not unleash the venom he said he was going to bring to the ring.

Not much of a spectacle and Wlad rolled-on with another efficient, well-constructed but ultimately rather dull win.

The first Froch-Groves fight actually had plenty of hype but I had low expectations of it to be frank. I was fairly sure that Froch would batter Groves badly and early and that George had picked precisely the wrong man to call out.

But George was canny, brave and at times very successful that night and it definitely warranted that huge rematch.

Going way back when I was a kid and just getting into boxing .........all the Brit papers said that Honeyghan was going to be another brave but unsuccessful Brit who lost in the US and that Curry was simply too good and on the road to greatness. Lloyd had other plans :box:
