I'm just thinking if both Charlo's bros couldn't stop or dominated an already beaten Trout then they may not be what some people hype them to be.

Obviously the Charlos are good but how good. We need to see them up the competition - which is to their credit. I only watched a few rounds of the recent Trout fight maybe it was more a case of styles. Hurd took far more punishment than Charlo from what I saw but he got the stoppage. Hurd is more a pressure fighter than a boxer puncher that defines the less aggressive Charlo, Jermell.

Not convinced Hurd would be able to soak up the punches of a Charlo, (either one) as he did a Trout and Lara but maybe the pressure and also power of Hurd may break the younger twin as he was broken once before in the womb by the bigger and more aggressive Jermall whom consumed more nutrients and after exiting the vagina, won the fight to be born first.

I like Hurd a lot. But he has literally no defense. Charlo can punch hard and Jarett is open to counters. Trout hit Hurd with a lot of clean punches, he has pretty good chin but i dont think he can absorb clean sharp counterpunches from boxers like Alvarez, Golovkin, Jacobs or Charlos. Anyway, i am cheering for him, if he can walk down Charlo i would like that

Agree. But Charlo is bigger puncher than Lara IMO.

Lara was dragged into a fight because nearing 36, he simply doesn't have the legs to box all night.

He has to stand and fight these days.

Hurd is bigger, perhaps stronger than Charlo, but I'm not sold on him.

As said earlier, Hurd's not difficult to find and I think Charlo might simply be a level above him as a more complete fighter.

I'd go with the twin in a matchup.

The truth is Hurd has better performances at 154 than Jermell. Hurd would drag Mell into a war and I think the bigger man would prevail.

Jermell Charlo's ring IQ is very impressive. He's very economical with his punches, always throwing at a high connect percentage. Hurd is more of an in your face brawler. That's a perfect fit for Charlo's skills.

Hurd would need to fight intelligently to beat Charlo.

Bullying him and relying on size and strength won't be enough to get the job done against the more complete Charlo.

Charlo isn't a big puncher. He's been handled carefully to make it seem that way in recent times. Lara dropped a better version of Trout.

How about the 114-114 draw scorecard last night? What was that judge watching?!? Even Trout looked absolutely shocked.

I am undecided. Personally, I am not fond of fighters having basic weapon in draining himself and compete in the weight division where they don't belong. Hurd is the best example for this kind of fighters. If this match happens, I will root for Charlo, definitely, and the outcome will be very questionable.

Yeah, very carefully matched. I'm not even sure how to rate him yet because I haven't seen him truly tested. Using Lara or Trout to rate Hurd or Charlo is moot. Lara is 4 years past prime, as is Trout + a lot of milage on the clock.

I think there's a good chance he would be, but I can't say for sure.

I do think that the Hurd fight had taken a lot out of Trout because that was probably the worst performance I'd seen from him last night. Hurd gives guys the kinda ass whoopings that stick with 'em.

I haven't watched Jermell vs Trout yet, but I'm not sure how much to read into it in terms of predicting Jermell vs Hurd. I think Jermell, and perhaps both Charlo's, are better against pressure fighters compared to boxers.

Lara/Jermell/Hurd could be a classic example of why triangle theory doesn't work in boxing. Hurd's relentless pressure and ability to take a fight to the trenches means he beats Lara; Lara's boxing skills could mean he beats Jermell; Charlo's sharp counters and power punching could be enough to beat Hurd. That's assuming Lara is still Lara btw, but I have a feeling the Hurd fight may have taken too much out of him.

only lara has dominated trout, hurd was getting clowned for like 6 rounds then got to him with pressure

yeah I think there's probably a lot to that. mentally as well as physically it must be difficult to come back having been taken to the well and coming up empty
