I know the problem with the p4p lists and how they are all just personal opinions and often just a list of ones personal favorite fighters.

On the other hand there usually is some kind of consensus of who should be there and who should not.

It also highlights the importance of some fights and wins.

So without further ado...

What is you current p4p top 10 list?

Mine will probably be bit more controversial one... And I have to admit that not so good because my knowledge of the lower weights is not the greatest.

Here goes nothing

1. Lomachenko
2. Crawford
3. GGG
4. Sor Rungvisai
5. M. Garcia
6. Thurman
7. Spence
8. Kovalev
9. Joshua
10. Usyk

Kovalev is on the list because he should have at least one win over ward. Maybe even two. If those fights were judged and refereed correctly he might even be near the top.

Canelo is not on my list because he doesn't have that many good wins. He also has had all the advantages in all of hes fights... That tends to diminish the wins in my books.

Inoue did't make the list but hes close. If I make new one tomorrow he might be there

Groves is another one that is close to the list.

I left Pac out because in my opinion he should just retire next. Hes only shadow of what he once was. I didn't even watch the Horn fight.

Santa Cruz should arguably be on the list.

Danny Garcia is not too far away either. One good win and hes in. (Porter is not that good)

If Gassiev beats Usyk he will be on my list.

6 - Naoya Inoue
7 - Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
8 - Errol Spence Jr.

10 - Donnie Nietes

I feel that Errol Spence Jr. should be listed higher, but can’t think of who he should be rated above, and I guess the fact that I’ve chosen to exclude names like Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Sergey Kovalev may be a tad controversial for some people.

Honestly, I can not understand the lists without Joshua.

Don’t get me wrong, AJ is a really talented fighter, but I feel that there are at least ten other boxers who I rate above him from a pound-for-pound perspective.

My perception of this situation is likely to change over time and if Anthony Joshua can somehow remain unbeaten and unify the titles, then he’ll likely be included in my future top-ten pound-for-pound list.

It is kind of hard to rank the HW's in p4p lists.

Many see the division as being weak (I don't agree with that) and because of that they see it as less impressive to be the best of that division.

Some people also might think that because Joshua has size advantage against many of hes opponents that makes him less good in p4p sense.

The last one is the fact that the big guys appear to be less skilled than the smaller men. HW's have less flashier style and footwork. It is hard to move like Ali or Loma when you weight 300 pounds

That still doesn't mean that the guys are less skilled as boxers. It's bit different game for the big guys.

I have Joshua on my list. He is head and shoulder above most of the division. Literally

He just dominated another title holder who had 3 successful defenses. That's good accomplishment in any division.

That's not a bad list.

Canelo is too high but others are not too far of.

It's good to see that some of the smaller dudes are getting some love too

ya, you also said you think there has to be hws on the p4p list, because they would be the best in absolute terms, even though p4p is the opposite of absolute!

ajs got a good resume but im not sure about a top ten spot yet. there are some really good and accomplished fighters lower down. beating wilder would really help ajs case

It'd have to be. One guy is retired, 1 guy is semi-retired, and banned from fighting in the U.S. I believe, and one 2 guys aren't even ranked in the Top 15 in their own respective weight classes.

Nice list. About spot on, but in slightly different order. I’d drop Inoue and Santa and put in Joshua and Canelo. I also forgot Thurman but he’s inactive.

I can see that argument.

Considering the fights that Joshua and Canelo have pencilled in for the Fall a victory for them in their upcoming bouts ensures they'll be on the list after their next bouts...provided they win of course.

Yep I may have had Thurman on the verge of P4P status at one time, but he's been so inactive lately that he's making it hard to keep him ranked. I'm not even sure I still have him ranked as a Welterweight at the moment because he hasn't fought in a year, and has nothing scheduled.

couple of things that have surprised me so far...

Thurman not making it to the lists. I think I had Danny Garcia on my p4p list at the time when Thurman beat him. I think he well deserves a spot. I guess hes absence is due to not fighting in a while?

I am happy to see Usyk making it on to so many lists. CW is great at the moment and he really has stand out as the best of the division. Gassiev will soon have hes chance to dethrone him tho

Wilder making it to multiple lists. That's just crazy talk. Guy has one good win and that was against 39 years old guy who still managed to almost KO him and he needed some help from ref/doctor to make it. Some people are really ranking him above guys like Inoue and Santa Cruz???

I suppose Thurman's heart is no more in this sport, and Wilder is HW fighter, and this is the great benefit (I am the first who prefer HW).................
