commonwealth should be below british tbh, even though in theory it would have a larger talent pool able to compete for the belt

In reality it is, I asked the question ‘when did that happen?’ In another thread recently.
It’s not uncommon to box for commonwealth in 10 fights or less

you cant have that because British is one entity if you like where as Commonwealth has far more, Canada for 1 has had many good boxers and possibly better than British, Razer Ruddock, Adonis Stevenson, Arturo Gatti, Matthew Hilton, Michael Olajide for example who have been decent boxers and possibly better than British counterparts of the same weight.
Nah, for me, British is right then Commonwealth.

There's been a good few British fighters that have won the CW but haven't been good enough to compete at British level in recent years as well. I'd agree the British is above the CW in terms of level.
Lee McAllister 2x weight CW champ
Paul Truscott
Ross Burkinshaw
Craig Docherty
That's just off the top of my head. There's loads more on the tip of my tongue.,...

you speak more to theory though. ya, the commonwealth has greater elgibility, but in reality its below the british these days i feel in terms of whose actually fighting for it. you mention canadians but quality canadians very rarely fight for it now, and likewise i dont think its much of a deal at all outside uk

Nobody who actually follows boxing would argue that the level of competition for the commonwealth title is above the level for the British title

I think loads come into it
1. How many tickets do you sell
2. Who is representing you
3. Where you are based
4. Who else is based there
5. Who your team are
I think these come into play more than how many fights you have. It's always easier when your being built on the back of someone and they need to give you opportunity. All about the money etc.

The area titles and English title are not contested all that often either these days
