Mr W confirms real possibility both will face each other 15 September.

Not sure what weight or who's titles would be on the line.

It would be for Degales title, no way Degale would move down to middleweight.

Why would he want to? He's the IBF super middleweight champion.

I don't like this fight. Weight jumping silliness.

Interesting match up, but by god will it be hard to watch.

They've both got big fights on the horizon at their own weights. Why risk that for this weird fight?

No story, no build, no reason to assume that it will be entertaining.

Why?

I'm mystified as to why it's even being mentioned,a loss for either would be devastating at this point in their careers.

Why doesn't Saunders do Murray?

He kind of owes him.

Or how about Brit matchup with Spike O'Sullivan?

Entertaining bout that would be.

But Spike might want to instead sit back and wait on a massive Canelo payday.

At whatever weight, Saunders should box circles around DeGale, who looks like he's lost more than a step or two based on his performances against Truax.

He's already beaten Spike O'Sullivan

This doesn't seem like a money fight to me.

Seems like a fight that could cost them millions between the two of them.

Who wants this fight?

Not something I’d especially want to see. I’d rather see Saunders fight any of Andrade, Charlo, Murata, etc

But under GBP, Spike has gained a sort of star quality that wasn't there when they last met.

Not to mention that Saunders stature has grown since then.

Before it was a fight that only attracted attention in the UK. Now it may capture international interest.

It wouldn't attract international interest. It wouldn't attract much interest in the UK either.

Who wants this fight?

Maybe Mr W is losing the edge in boxing promotions and is trying to put fights together that he thinks the public want to see, trying to get the edge back.

Imo any British match up like this will sell and get bums on seats.

I would have thought Saunders waiting for either Alvarez or Golovkin would be a much better decision.

DeGale vs Groves II also seems like a much better fight to wait for.

It seems like a desperate move when there is no reason to be desperate.

British world champion vs British world champion is great on paper but this just doesn't really do anything for me. Probably because Saunders should be looking at Golovkin and Canelo and DeGale should be looking at Groves/Smith. Plus the styles probably wouldn't gel at all.

If it goes down I'd favor Saunders confidently. Degale's kinda a frontrunner that always wears out during the 2nd half. Saunders is pretty consistent throughout a contest. Not spectacular most of the time, but more consistent than Degale.

The form book says...... DeGale lost an absolute squeaker against Groves. BJS just about shaded Eubank. The Groves won every minute of every round against Eubank. I don't see any argument in favour of Billy Joe here; he's too small and not very good. It'll be awful to watch, but DeGale should win comfortably. You have to really dislike Billy Joe to want to see him in with a world class middleweight.....

Who beat who has nothing to do with it. BJS beats DeGale for me. DeGale looks shot and outta ideas. The Jack fight took a massive part of him. BJS is hitting top form and JDG is on the slide.

Looking at some of my old scorecards: I don't see any pattern of DeGale losing the later rounds more than the early rounds.

Saunders has worn out in the 2nd half of fights many times.
