I think it will be a DAZN for US. Sky Sports for us UK fans.

Beating for TheOne. Don’t see the sense in it.

People are having a go at Eddie but he’s not forcing Johnson into anything, and there’s been bigger upsets in boxing.

The IBF asked Jonhsons team, they accepted. Hearn is just going to help promote the bout.
People think Hearn has every say in his boxers choice.

johnson is like 33, not like he has years and years to build up to a world title chance
plus an injury could put him out another 6 months, etc
hes got his shot assured here. losing at world level and he can still come back at a lower level, its easier to move down in levels

For me it's a bigger risk for Johnson not to take the fight. No guarantee the opportunity comes around again. Decent fights to be made at domestic level - Buglioni, Burton, Yarde, Buatsi etc - but those don't go away even with a loss to Beterbiev. It might be too soon in terms of the level he's fought at, but at his age and with his inactivity, it's unlikely he'll get that run of fights through European and fringe world level to the extent that you'd say that he's earned and is ready for a shot.
Win or lose I think he's done the right thing taking this. Good luck to him but it'll be a big ask.

That's basically the same way I see it. Time isn't on his side. He's showing balls and ambition so that has to be commended.

Agree - he’s got a punchers chance and Beterbiev has had a lot of legal battles lately and might take him lightly.
Or he might be mighty pissed off on other side of the coin.

Yeah he's not been the most active either but neither has Johnson come to think of it. Interesting fight. Big ask but stranger things have happened.

I'd like to give him a punchers chance, bit I'm not even sure he is that big a puncher.
His KO of Bug was good, but no more than Khimitsky did a couple years ago.
Good on Johnson for taking the fight though.

Gallagher is a pretty good trainer, but an even better comedian.

He mentioned Johnson.. But another he mentioned was Crolla. He said when he won the title, he could have sat on the title, but instead he went up against Linares.

Did he mention Callum Smith and the fact he should have fought for a world title ages ago?
Or how Quigg sat on a WBA 'title' for ages waiting for a big payday against Frampton?

When you get older, you regret the opportunities you didn’t take rather than the ones you did

What's Callum's chances here? I think it'll be a tentative start from him and Beterbiev will just walk him down. I'd love to see him pull it off though and I admire him for taking the challenge on...

Maybe 30% chance?
They went down the list and ended up at Callum because the other contenders turned it down.
He has a chance for sure.
Good opportunity I think.

It's deffo a good opportunity mate aye. Beterbiev has looked a bit of a wrecking ball so far but can he take a dig? I expect him to have too much for Johnson but I hope I'm wrong.

I think this will be the case. It’s good Johnson will get his world title opportunity, but like many domestic level Brits, they fail to capture a world title even after many attempts.
Callum will come to fight and give it his all. But he’ll lose this.

I’d say 30% is pretty generous...on the evidence we’ve seen of both fighters so far, I’d give Callum about 15% chance at most. Of course, far stranger things have happened in boxing...
