Here's a good fantasy matchup....

Manny Pacquiao vs Wilfredo Gomez at 122. A couple of legendary knockout punchers.

Gomez was a beast at that weight, making 14 title defenses before climbing to featherweight and being dominated by Sanchez.

Pacquiao had less of a track record at super bantam, making just 4 defenses before moving up and dethroning Barrera at featherweight.

On a strict P4P basis, I lean toward the speedier, more mobile Pacquiao.

But at 122, with Pacquiao just acquiring the services of Roach before starting his title run, Gomez would appear to be the more seasoned, tested combatant.

Gomez by 12 round decision or a possible late KO in a 15 rounder.

Pac at 122 was still kinda one dimensional as a fighter. A lot of the wrinkles he added to his game that made him one of the All Time Greats didn't get added until he moved up in weight. He was still kinda the jab, jab, left hand guy at 122.

I think Gomez could take him at 122.

I kinda thought this was gonna be about Pacquiao vs Quartey at Welterweight. That would actually be a more competitive matchup I think. Even though Quartey is bigger, Pac had come a long way as a fighter by then. Though I certainly think he'd hold his own with Gomez at 122.

Though I would give Jeff Chandler an outside shot of beating Wilfredo, no one really takes Gomez at 122, and that definitely includes Pac man.

Chandler would get eaten alive by Gomez..PAC definitely a tougher matchup but Gomez would prevail.

Normally, I would say Wilfredo takes Jeff, but in retrospect, Jeff has the skill, toughness, and size to give him a legit fight.
