Former IBF World Champ, Stuart Hall, has announced his retirement from professional boxing.

38 year old Hall, from Darlington, was involved in 5 world title fights....

Not bad for a guy who (by his own admission) nearly lost it, partying in Ibiza.

Smart move, probably shouldn’t have had the last fight though. He’s a good example of a boxer getting the most out of their ability in terms of titles...

He certainly had a good career.
I went to watch him at leeds arena on hobsons show when he won the title. He always came to fight and to say he wasnt super talented he did very well in the end after a somewhat late start and to keep going till he was 38 down in them weights is a testament to how tough and durable stuey is.
All the best in retirement, i hope ur next chapter is as rewarding as ur last.

A solid pro and a career he can look back on and be proud of.

Saw him live three times, twice from ringside. Probably a bit unlucky in a couple of fights but that's how it goes sometimes.

Fair play to the lad, maximised his talents and always came across well.

British Title (Lonsdale Belt holder), Commonwealth Title and IBF World Title is a brilliant career.

I thought his greatest performance was as a loser to Caballero in Monaco.
He poured his life and soul in to that battle. I thought Caballero was going to be something special - to deny Hall in that form, away from home in his ‘first real test’..
Maybe he didn’t have anything left after that ?

Stuart went up in my estimation a lot after that fight.

Certainly one of the hardest lower weight fighters I've seen.

He can look back and be satisfied that he made the best out of the ability he had. Can't ask for more than that.

Wasn't he a bit of a man about the town when he was younger and didn't really knuckle down til late in his career?

I heard that too. He has had a great career and I hope he made a few quid.

A tough boxer, hope he does well for himself in retirement.

Great fights vs Jamie McDonnell, Malinga & Butler. Then became a bit of a plodder who went on too long. How was the fight with Gavin McDonnell - any good?

Met him at the MEN arena. Just defended the Britsh Title and was walking round with it in a case getting some fast-food and got chatting, Happily chatted about his fight and his plans for rest of night(Defo lived up to his reputation), got his belt out and let me hold it and have few pictures. Great guy.
Also very smart. Said he wasn't staying around and getting of here. Considering the main event was Haye and Harrison seemed great decision after how awful it was.

I Know I am biased but he is genuinely one of the nicest blokes you could meet.

He knew his limitations and through hard work and determination had a career to be proud of.

Not many will ever achieve in boxing what he has, its hard game as you all know. He has taken every opportunity he could to make things work, he never ducked anyone, never moaned about anything, just got on with it.

He is super proud of what he has done and the memories he has, no one can take those away from him and I know he will cherish them forever.

As some have mentioned he started late and managed to turn his life around fully. He has a wonderful young family, he is fit and healthy and goes onto the next chapter in his life now full of enthusiasm and happiness.
