Although his opposition on the ESPN undercard for Ramirez-Angulo wasnt much to speak of, 2016 Olympics gold winner Robson Conceicao displayed a blistering arsenal of devastating body shots that dropped Gavino Guaman numerous times last night before the unbeaten (8-0) Brazilian got the 3rd-round stoppage:

I've been following him since his debut and I say he has improved a lot, I risk saying more than 60% since his 4th bout. Now he is in very good shape and skills, but his last Saturday opponent (an E class one) was a very mediocre, with no chin, power and skills and didn't push Conceição 1/4 of what he is really capable of. On the other side Conceição smashed him easily, a sparring session.

* It's kind of cowardly to put an opponent on that insignificant level against a rising Olympic champion.

I heard that his team is afraid of putting him vs tougher opponents to raise more money and to quite save him to "stone" him more.

IMO he is very prepared for managing C and B class opponents.

Sure, his opposition is weak right now, but I'm sure Top Rank will raise the level once he gets more experience. His body shots are devastating and the power he delivers to the body will help him at higher levels. Here are a few of his other earlier opponents who have been unable to handle his blistering body shots.

Personally I think Conceicao will win a pro world championship around sometime in 2020 if he continues to develop at his current pace.

I saw all of these bouts and he probably will win the world championship in late 2019 or early 2020. I think he now is capable of fighting undefeated fighters like Jose Matias Romero, Eduardo Hernandez, Hector Luis Garcia or veterans like Jayson Velez or Eduardo Ramirez and if, hypothetically he win 2 of these, he can fight well multiple ranked bodies boxers like Rene Alvarado, Guillaume Frenois or James Tennyson.

You could well be right. Conceicao could end up winning a pro world title before 2020. It basically boils down to how long Top Rank wants to take to develop him against that level of competition.

I was wondering also if Oklahoma had a legit athletic commission too.

Back in the day, that state let Sean O'Grady get away with murder. Not surprising considering his father pretty much controlled the sport in OK.

O'Grady's shameful bloodbath with Shig Fukuyama is still one of the more obvious examples of boxing corruption.
