Million Dollar Tournament *Complete*

Posted: 09 Jul 2018, 12:10
by armageto
The Million Dollar Tournament (MDT) is a seasonal event in the BoxRecSim, it only comes around once-a-year and it is a HOF recognized event.

The MDT was first devised by the now-transferred PIITB Promotions, where the inventor, a former Sim Brother of ours known as "DetroitHxC" created this seven-week boxing tournament in order to find out who had the stamina for such a marathon.

The MDT is an open tournament of 32 male fighters in which ANYONE can enter - and if they do so, they will bring their titles along their MDT journey with them. During the MDT series, all Title rules and regulations are relaxed in order to help the tourney run it's natural course.

The structure of the tournament is - a group stage (8 groups of 4 fighters) with the top 2 progressing through to the second round (the last 16) and from there becomes a straight knockout competition, essentially a situation of:
you win & you're through..... you lose & you're out..... Any draws will be replayed to find a winner that same week.

All Managers should note that upon application of the tournament, they will then by legally required to see through this obligation, there can be no withdrawals, EVER!
Though if a Manager does enter, his fighters will not be able to fight each other. Also, World Champions would not be able to meet each until the Semi Finals. So, the stakes get ever higher as the tournament progresses.

MDT success is rated as a high honor in Simland, the winning Manager will be financially reimbursed with $1 million simdollars. Along with that, the triumphant boxer will be remembered in the MDT Roll of Honor which can be found in the HOF.
And lastly, the victor will be awarded a guaranteed place in the end-of-season Super Six - the most highly exclusive club in all of Simland featuring the best of the best. You won't get this ticket anywhere else.

So, have you ever wondered what a Million dollars looks like?

One fighter this season will find out... And gain the ownership of the Million Dollar belt (which cost a £1 million / $1 million )

At some point there can be a situation, when fighters of the same manager will have to face each other. Has such stuff ever occurred through the Sim history?

I suppose it could happen, assuming they met in the finals. They'd be nobody else to fight technically. It's never happened, and as a manager, who could complain if two guys made it to the finals.

Hold the phone. What the hell are we talkin' here?

A tournament where one's simulated constitutional RIGHTS are compromised, and a manager can not pull his fighter out, NO MATTER WHAT?

Let's say for Example.....Crease decides to put little scrawny Rocky Marciano in the tourney.......and let's not forget folks, ROCKY IS NOT VERY TALL!! So lets say little Rocky seriously strains his uterus. Does this mean he has to suck it up and continue despite being in agony? Seems cruel and unusual to me. What if Ali knocks the Rocks toupee off? What then? Still no way can the Rock be scratched from the events?

Or what if we put Wamba in, and Jirov starts mouthing off and we need to pull Wamba out of the tourney to attend to such matters?

This tourney needs to be postponed,, and I am asking the GBP attorneys to file an injunction until some of the more controversial aspects of this dog and pony show can be worked out.

The right to retract, is a constitutional god given option that no one should challenge.

We are warning everyone, if we are somehow over ruled, and shown disrespect, and this policy is held by our good and fair commish to be somehow genuinely sim-constitutional.....then we will be forced to send our entire camp (Roach salesman included) in to this tourney to sort things out.

Yep....every member of our stable wants in if this rule stands. OR are you going to NOT ALLOW women to participate? Cripes......I just know that the answer to this questions is going to be the next shoe drop. Honestly? I'm not sure I want to live in a simulated world where very very tall women are not allowed to compete, and cut and run if they so decide.

Commish....stop this tourney NOW. Until fairness can be restored, and freedom to choose one's sim path can be guaranteed to EVERY ONE.

We EXPECT the right to be able to ditch this tournament at the drop of a hat.
We EXPECT to have women treated as equals.

If our expectations are not met, and immediately and with positive enthusiasm......then YOU can expect our entire stable (including one very tall Woman,) to be deeply and thoroughly disappointed.

Are we clear?

The MDT is an open tournament of 32 male fighters in which ANYONE can enter

The sight of these words, should sicken any fair minded person. Is a female somehow NOT ANYONE?

Women can not be matched up against the men in this version of the game, I've tried it before and it would not allow me, so no point in making a scene Buzz.

I'll sign up Jeannette for now, I think this tournament might be the spark he needs to get to the World championship level I know he's capable of. I'll wait and see what happens in the upcoming weeks before committing Tyson and Norris.

Well when you put it that way, it's hard for me to be at odds with such a wise and noble tyrant. Uh I mean leader.

However.....here is my counter offer:

Send Durokovik to the proper Nordic/Benolux country where he can be appropriately altered, (bill us discreetly) and allow for Vonda to have her way with the mutant, and we will be at peace. She loses sleep at night knowing her rights are limited. You know.....it's the ol' "Me Too" thing. She yearns for something meaningful that she can sink her teeth into.

The Roach Spray Salesman is seriously considering fumigating this hornets nest.

You have all been warned. GBP wants a slot......Now....because we are a careful and thoughtful management agency, It's possible Max Scmeling will be called upon to sub for him, should we have second thoughts. But we want a slot in this infestation. In ordrer to take proper remedial action.

We guarantee that whichever of our fighters ultimately begins this tournament, will stay for the duration....despite our belief that it's unfair to force a fella lilke Rocky to face such tall fighters for an entire tournament.
