Stupid fight, totally settled up/arranged. I bet that as many say because Manny was robbed vs Horn, now with 39, one year later, he buys his possibly his last bout to retire with a "clean" top/good last bout.
In no way Matthysse behavior like that in his career, in all his 5 star bouts vs A class boxers, I never saw he took a knee from a weak blow 2x... throwing slow jabs and straights, rare combinations, few decent moves.... There was a part in that he ducks and stay like 1 or half second to wait Pacman move, he let Pacquiao hit in many times and he wasn't tired...
Who follow Matthysse knows his boxing and this today wasn't him.
Paquiao said in the interview that he plans no next bout or opponent and only wants to rest... A possible retirement closing up?

He’s got IRS bills to pay he’ll have another fight.....
It was an odd and pathetic performance by Matthysse. Did not look believable to lose in such a manner. Fair enough that he’s not on manny level but that was something else. Shaking my head.
Manny did look great for a 39 year old. Very comfortable and more or less sparring in there in complete control however I can’t believe his punches were so strong as to have that effect among other things.

It was a bit suspect, but that uppercut hit Matthysse when he was in his shell and he least expected it. He was definitely at least dazed.

I remember people saying the same about Fury/Klitschko. I'm sure this is just another big conspiracy.

You mean "set up"? No, you just needed to watch the Kiram fight to know your boy had NOTHING left. Thats your fault. Did you see that fight? LMM lost every round until Kiram took a dive.

LM basically took a knee against Postol. I disagree with your perspective. Pac hurt LM in the first round. He was hurting LM with his jab. I think Matthysse was just avoiding being brutalized further in the coming rounds. Pacman was too quick and too strong for him.

Was expecting Pacquiao to perhaps come up short in this fight. Pretty impressive although Lucas was poor. Pacquiao at his age is still a serious threat to anyone.

Is it me or did Pacquiao look more filled out in this fight than he's ever looked entering the ring? He looked in peak form as far his physic was concerned and he seemed to have beefed up a bit. I'm wondering if he decided he needed to add that extra weight due to the fact Horn was able to rough him up and push him around at times in his last fight.

Poor show from Matthysse, doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. His comments afterwards about it somedays being your turn to lose won't help quell the suspicions though. Pretty strong hint of a set up or at the least an unwillingness to fight. Perhaps he just didn't have it to fight in that heat and humidity.
On the other hand Pacquiao looked as relaxed as he has been for years, hmm.. maybe he should have switched trainers earlier.
Still, no point in getting carried away as Manny did look spent after only 7 rounds and there was little sign of the blistering footwork from the earlier years.
All in all a perfect performance against a ready made and willing opponent.

Short term memory is a terrible thing to lose. Matthysse looked like ass against Teerachai

Quite a few people were writing Manny's obit before the fight.
But as we just witnessed, he still has far too much class at the level of Matthysse. I'd be far more concerned if he went up against someone like Spence.
This might be a good point to sign off unless he really is desperate for money. In that case Crawford or Khan might be next. Or better still, a Horn rematch.

Was there any drug testing performed for this fight?

Matthysse is 36. Didn't look very good against Kiram.
No fix. No conspiracy. Lucas is over the hill. And understand, in his prime Matthysse was never a great fighter. Just a great puncher.
Manny used his speed and movement to win, as was expected.
The Postol fight was a preview of what to expect from Matthysse. His heart is no longer in the sport.

Like an overwhelming majority of fights, no. It really should be mandatory. Either way, Manny at no point would ever need help to beat who he just beat. Maybe a year off, being 100% healthy, and training right is the more likely answer to why that result happened. Are you insinuating he cheated? Based on not taking a test?

Manny previously turned down several opportunities to earn eight digit paydays based on his persistent refusal to undergo random unannounced blood based drug testing.
There are videos on YouTube that I can very easily cite, which I'm supremely confident other forum members saw too, where Manny openly admitted to refusing to be tested for PED's.
It seems that Pacquiao's sub par performances were during a period of time when he was obliged to undergo testing for PED's.
This type of conduct provides sufficient justification for me to be suspicious about how he achieved some of his sporting accomplishments.

I agree with you I'm suspicious - it's hard not to be however there's little point arguing it among these posters. Manny wiped the floor with what was once a competent fighter in Matthysse. Apparently Manny at 39 is still levels above in not only skill but speed, power and activity - given this he is still worthy of fighting the top tier of the 140 to 147 division and he should, without delay. He should also be tested. If he goes through with this, wins or is highly competitive I'll change my tune and become a manny fanboy or as they are formally known; a pactard.

he was always levels above mat and mat looked not hot at all in his fight before, struggling a lot with that thai guy kiram. i agree mannys history is ultra suspcious (id bet my house he was on a serious ped regiment ), but this fight wasnt imo , it was just one guy whose plain better vs a far more limited guy with a history of quitting
also lucas was much closer to mannys size then most pacs opponents over last several years, that helps with manny doing more damage
