Brit Fights where there was a cut before 4 rounds and it was called a technical draw?

Can anyone give me some fights where this happened?

Pretty poor rule and it seems the UK is way behind the rest of the world in this particular regard but what more would you expect from the old mans club BBBoC?

This rule is in line with the Workd organisations isn’t it?

I remember Herbie Hide losing a fight on a head butted caused cut and it wrecked the prospect of a fight against Danny Williams that had been ordered by the EBU for the EU title. That would have been a good fight at the time.

Huh?
Most of the world rule them as technical draw or a no contest

It goes down as a no contest in most other countries I believe. This is important if someone is betting on the fight for example and say they bet on Dave Allen to beat Lenroy. Allen gets cut and the fight is called a draw. Any win bets are losers. I know in most states in america it goes down as no contest. Calling it a draw really does screw anyone who bet on it

Technical draw in the Philippines (great example is this guy http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/467367)

And in Japan (first bout with Onaga and Kudaka for example http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/251494)

I think its only really the US and some world title bodies that do the No Contest / No Decision, but I guess some other countries do as well, I just know we're not alone in the technical draw stuff

I refed Craig mcewan v allister Warren .. bad clash of head at least 3 times in first round. Had to call the doc who rightfully waved it off. Fight ended in technical draw.

Always thought Craig was gonna be something special in the pros. He was probably the best amateur up here in and around his weight for years...

That's right mate aye. I hadn't heard of him for years afterwards then I was watching an American show at daft o'clock in the morning one night and saw Freddie Roach was wearing a Hibs top then I recognised Craig

Wasn’t it the case an unfortunate fighter who got cut from an accidental head clash could end up with a TKO loss here in UK???

I personally have no issue with the technical draw rule.

Can't remember official cards but I had him ahead then he started to unravel in the penultimate round :TU:

I thought he was giving Lee a hiding but I honestly believe Lee had the best punch in boxing at one point - his right hook. Got him out of trouble in so many fights

That's interesting. I was under the impression that most countries did away with it. Certainly it seems like in the US and most world title bodies have done away with it.

What do you think happened with Hide vs Kaulikausas then when Hide was deemed to have lost and took a TKO on his record.

ya mcewan was defo ahead until late vs lee and for much of that fight beat up on lee. but then lee hurt mcewan n the 9th and finished thngs last round. the 85-85 cards were rather generous to andy though they were moot werent they

McEwan was several rounds in front. Lee was loading up with the right hook all night and it set up the straight left to drop McEwan. Big right hooks got him going again in the 10th and a straight left ended proceedings.

More or less ruined mcewan and ended his career really.

Check out the HBO highlights

"Andy lee is in trouble. His confidence looks shot"

"This is a stunningly effective performance by McEwan"

Until a few years ago a fighter in the UK injured through an accidental foul and couldn't continue lost by TKO. The technical draw rule is a million times better than that.

The Hide fight is on YouTube btw

Shinny Bayaar had the same vs Paul Edwards I think as well
