Hi Fellas

What has been the best fight and the best small hall fight on British shores over the 2017-18 season?

Ones that spring to mind are

Price v Povetkin,
Burnett v Zanet,
Warrington v Selby,
Frampton v Donaire,
Taylor v Postol,
Walsh v Lowe,
Welborn v Langford,
Truax v DeGale I,
Leather v Foot,
Doyle v Bellotti,
Woodstock v Poxton
Benn v Peynaud

Which was best?

Any I've forgotten?

Do you know what's happening with Easton? Did he lose his license?

Think he's in front of the board on Friday. Heard he's looking at a jail sentence though. Hope not Jason is a nice lad, boxers have the book thrown at them though. Always have and always will

Yeah I got humped for it when I was younger mate. What was it he done? Heard it was an unprovoked attack. Has he got previous?

Although Povetkin vs Price was a much more exciting fight than I anticipated.

I amnt 100% sure but I think he gave someone a crack when on a night out. So what nice guys don't assault people? Lads are lads and I have seen 1000 of smacks in the face on a night out. Drink has that effect on people reason I don't drink. My point is boxers get hammered when they are the same as anyone else. People make mistakes and Jason has held his hands up.

The world is mad now. I read stuff on Twitter and you have people goading boxers. Guys who are nothing. People take free speech to a new level and think they can say if they wish. I'm all for banter but come on. On nights out I have seen guys deliberately pick fights with boys who kickbox and box just to try and get a wee rep . Major egos. I can't defend what Jason has done but I can imagine he's had a fair whack of boys trying there luck with him.

I’ve not seen all these fights. But I’d say Selby didn’t have enough snap on his shots to justify his fight with Warrington as one of the best this year.

And that for competitive intensity, and quality, and pedigree, Taylor v Postol was impressive in every way.

You can't be serious?

So what nice guys don't assault people? - No, no they don't. People who assault other people deserve everything they get. Drink is not an excuse. Fair play to you, if you don't drink because of the effect it has, maybe other people should realise the same, or at least not get completely wasted.

Boxers are rightly hammered by the legal system - their fists are literally the tools of their trade and they are coached to punch with maximum effect, something your average pissed up brawler isn't.

Yeah your average brawler usually picks up a tumbler. As I have said I have witnessed your average person as you call it literally have a go for no reason with friends of mine who kickbox etc. It's an ego thing. As I said I don't know the details apart from he assaulted someone. If you believe the way our legal systems works that a boxer should be hammered yet nonces are given leniency then that's fine but in my view drunken scraps are a waste of the tax payers money. Jason should be hit in his pocket and been sent to anger management etc

That's a completely null and void argument. Just because a nonce gets a lenient sentence doesn't impact on whether it's right or wrong that a professional fighter uses his fists to hurt someone.

That's like saying you object to paying a bus fare and should pay less because your council tax is expensive, it's irrelevant.

Taylor Postol best fight in Britain this year.

Struggling with a small hall fight.I dont know if Tennyson v Ward qualifies but both guys had success in that fight before Tennyson ended it in brutal fashion.

Bellotti v Doyle was fun whilst it lasted.

I think in fairness, you would have to say Benn v Peynaud but im sure theres been better fights off TV.

Your analogy was not as I explained. I have said he was wrong. What I am saying is a crime should not be warranted on the seriousness of it. I do not see a drunken clash as serious as say you. So say handbags on a football park should police be involved? I have witnessed footballers headbutt other players and receive just a football ban. Live on tv!!! My point is there are many different elements to it. Boxers have emotion the same as any other human and we do not know what's happened but what I can guarantee is the other party wouldn't have been innocent. My comparison was more the fact the state of our legal system. If he is given a prison sentence then it sums it all up. Doesn't make him a bad guy in my eyes.

so if a porn star shagged you would he get the same treatment? #toolsoftrade
